Theif!

Welcome!

This cutie is by Hero Arts. It is another stamp set that I've been hoarding for years. I'm so glad that I finally got it out and started using it.   I used a heart stamp set that I had (no idea who made it. It is just hearts different sizes) to accent the card.   I might go back and add some glitter to the hearts.  Not sure, What do you think?

With Love

Hello,
Look at how cute this guy is!! He is also part of the snoopy valentine set from craftworld.  It was sold out the last time I looked. I'm not sure if they are going to release more or not.  I'm so glad I snagged this set.  Again, I think this card could be for valentine's day, but I don't think it has to be valentine.   I would just change up the background paper to something more neutral.  What do you think?

Owl Love

Hello,

I have a card that I LOVE.  I copied it from the spellbinders packaging...so I can't take any real credit for the design.   I guess I picked out the colors.   My favorite is the background.  It is Island indigo from stampin up . It has been retired for years, but I LOVE how it compliments the owls.  There are also otters in the set.  I might have to try them next!

Just My Type - Snoopy Style

Hello all,

Have you seen the new snoopy stamp set by craft world.  It sold out in less than a day!  I was so glad I snagged one before they sold out.  I couldn't resist using it as soon as it came.  I used the valentines paper pack from Michaels.  I thought it was perfect for this little guy.   More snoopy coming soon!

Cutest in History

Welcome,

As you probably know one of my favorite things about teaching classes in the students.  You guys are always inspiring me and give me the best ideas.  Things I would never come up with on my own.   Patty asked me for a baby card that had a dinosaur on it.   I'm sure I may have gotten around to it eventually, but I'm so so so glad she pushed me to create this.  I love this card.  It has also become one of the most popular baby cards on my craft table.  I love you guys.  Thank you for pushing my creative limits!

All of the Hearts

Hello!

Taylored Exressions had a great Valentine's release this year.   One of my favorites is this hanging string.  You can hand whatever you like from the string.  My mind just went wild with ideas.    Obviously the best place to start for Valentine's Day is hearts.  I used the new textured heart dies to create a bunch of hearts and placed them on the strings.  It is a simple but elegant card for the season.

Lion Love

 Hello,

Valentine's Day is the second most popular for sending cards.  Have you started thinking about the cards you will send this year?   I used to think of making just one card for my hubby, but now I like to make cards for all my friends....especially the ones that need a little extra love at this time of year.   This lion stamp is so sweet.  It is two female lions sharing a hug.  I think it will be perfect to send to a girlfriend that needs a pick-me-up.

LOVE Multiplied

Hello friends!

Do you ever had an idea bouncing around in your head and can't wait to get it out on paper?   I used the mini ink spots to ink up the Concrete Texture background stamp.  It works out perfectly to fit five colors evenly across the image.  I love the subtle rainbow that it creates.   It is just full of texture!!  I finished the card off with a love die.   I used both the negative and the positive to add a sentiment.  Do you like the Hello or the Love version better?

Heart to Heart

Happy Valentine's Day,

I may have lost my mind a little, but I had fun doing it.   I got these wonderful dies from Taylored Expressions.  Ryan and I spent an evening die cutting a bunch of scrap paper.   I have no idea how many hearts we created that night... but it took me two evening to glue them all down to cards.   I think I made about 30 cards in all.  I still have a bag of rainbow hearts for another day.   To finish off the cards, I either stamped a sentiment or foiled a sentiment.  Every single card is different.  Some of them are Valentines, but most of them can be used at "thinking of you" cards.

Do you ever mass produce cards?  I find it therapeutic.  There is something calming about it.

Perfect wife?

 Hello!

I love cards that make people laugh.  I also love chocolate.  What could be better?

When I was creating this card I wanted to use soft colors.  I picked purple so it wouldn't feel like a Valentine's day card.  It could be used anytime of year.  I accented the card with white clay hearts.

Foiling Game Changer (with video)

 Hello all,

Foiling is a huge trend in stamping. I love the look but I wasn't excited about purchasing a bunch more dies. I found WoW bonding powder. I thought it would be awesome to try. The powder is really fine. Finer than most embossing powder. Check out the results in this video. Look out world... I can foil any of my stamps! Simple to Bold.

 Hello,

I wanted to do a little experimenting with the Open Heart stamp.  This stamp is so elegant.  I thought it would look pretty in white/silver perfect pearls.   I really liked how it turned out so I wanted to make a second one.  This time I used my versamark marker to fill in the center of the hearts.   I'm not sure what version I like better.  The filled in hearts are certainly bolder.  What is your preference?

Making Lemonade

When Life Gets Sour.... Sweeten it with Love (inside of card).   That is what Tilda says.   Well I did my best.  I have a bit of a "sour" experience coloring this card the first time.   When I was coloring Tilda's skin, my E13 marker spit a large blob on ink.  YUCK!  Well.... I refused to give up.  I decided to make lemonade so to speak.  I just darkened everything up and did my best to clean it all up.

I think it turned out okay... but I really wanted to give it another try.  Thankfully my second time around my markers behaved themselves.  I think it turned out much better, but both are acceptable.

I'd love to hear your stories.  How did you save the day from your blobs? What do you think? Was I successful.

Can you spot my marker blob?

Second Try--

Cross my Heart

Greetings,

Taylored Expressions included this cross in their Spring 2022 release.  I love the simplicity of the cross.  I hope that I can use it all year long for Baptism and other occasions.   Today I paired it with Easter sentiment strips.   I put a heart in the center, but I think when I make more of these, I'll leave that off.  I think it covered up too much of the beautiful cross.

Mystical Love

Happy Friday friends!

My favorite part of this card is the "Love You" die.   The designers at Avery elle made magic when they created this. I love the font and the heart accents.   It is by far one of my new favorite dies in my stash.   I adapted the idea from the Avery Elle blog and put the new dragon stamp behind the E in Love.    I think it made it a really sweet card.

You're One in a Million- stencil paint

 Hello friends,

I love experimenting with new products.  I couldn't resist when I found small tubs of stencil paint on clearance at Hobby Lobby.    The paint in really thick.  It looked a lot like pink butter.  I used a spatula tool to spread it over a stencil.

It is hard to tell from the photos, but all the little hearts are 3D.  It took them about 15 minutes to dry.  All in all it was pretty easy and fun to play with.    If you do give this a try,   remember to wash your stencils right away.  The paint came off pretty easy, but if you let it dry it might be more difficult to wash off.

Materials:

Stencil Paint--  this is similar to what I used
Spatula -- you could use anything but this made it really easy to spread
Heart Stencil-- this is very similar to the one I used
Hero Heart Dies-- This is seriously one of the best die sets I've ever purchased

Please BEE Mine

Hello again,

This little girl is so darn sweet.  I loved her bee costume and thought it would be fun to turn her into a Valentine.   I love how the red and yellow play off each other on this card.  This is not a color combo that I use often, but I really like it came together.

My Heart Bounce

Welcome,

A while back I made a Winnie the pooh and piglet card.  It made me want to make a Tigger card.  He was always my favorite of the Pooh Crew.   With Valentine's day coming I thought it would be fun to have him bouncing through some hearts.   I used a stencil to add hearts to the background of the card.    I love how playful and fun it is.  What do you think?   I'm not sure I'm ready to put away my Winnie the pooh stamps.  We might need to do an Eeyore card next.

TTFN!
Chris

If it looks like a duck...

Greetings,

Valentine's day is coming up and I thought it would be a good idea to make a few cards.  I didn't want to do anything too mushy.   I think this fits the bill (Do you see what I did there?).   I hope you enjoy.
