Paw-sitive

Greetings,

Today I'm sharing the second card I made from this adorable cat set (listed below).   I thought this cat looked a little worried.  I thought it was perfect for an encouragement card.  I found this "Hang in There" stamp in my stash.  Happy Crafting!

Materials used:
Windy Die (very similar to what I used)
Cat Sentiments  (not used on this cards, but are pretty amazing)

Life is Sweet

Hello friends,

House Mouse is hosting a challenge this week.  The theme is to make a card using a House Mouse stamp and a die.  I thought it would be fun to use the a border die upside down from the intended way to create an arc.  The sentiment fit perfectly inside.

Thank you for popping over for a look.  I hope you will join the challenge if you have some time this week.

Gray Skies

Welcome,

I created two versions of this card.  The Avery Elle fram cuts out a center rectangle  as well as a border.  I thought the border looked a lot like clouds.  However, it does add a more feminine feel to the card.  I thought it would be nice to have a few more masculine cards on hand.   I'd love to hear what you guys think?   I'm always surprised how much a little detail like a border can change the whole feel of a card.

Purr-Fect

Welcome friends,

This was cat was a little bit of a challenge for me.  There was a lot of detail and the this sassy cat has its head held in a way that created lots of shadow.  I don't know if it is Purr-fect, but I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out.

Playful Resist-video

Hello all,

I managed to squeak out another video.  Yep, I'm surprised too.  A few night ago I was deep into another late night surfing session on pinterest.  A card caught my eye.   It was a reverse of what we usually see.  The blossoms on the flower were white and the background was colored.   After digging around the artist used masks to block off the petals so she could sponge the background.  There was nothing wrong with this process, but it occured to me that there was another way to approach this.   I captured my process in the video below. It made the process pretty fast, so I made a bunch of cards.

Materials used:

stamps: Playful blooms
Ink: Distress ink:  various colors
Brushes:
Embossing Powder

Here is the video:  Reminder if you are looking at this in your email the video won't play. You need to be on youtube or my blog.

In the Clouds

Welcome,

This is a card I've had in my head for awhile.  We live in the heart of the Finger Lake region of NY.    It is common to watch planes fly over the lake and often land on the water.  I wanted to try to capture this on a card.  I couldn't find a stamp of an aquatic plane, but I felt this one captured the feeling I was going for.   I love how the image reflects on the surface of the lake.    It makes you wonder what the first pilots were thinking as they bravely piloted the prototype planes.

I hope you enjoy this idea.  I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Flower Perch- in copic-- video included

Hello,

My crafty friend Lisa and I were chatting the other day about how different stamps can look different depending on how you color.  We thought it would be a fun idea to see how each approached a stamped image.   We picked Penny Black's Flower Perch.

We picked the image because we thought it would look amazing in both watercolor (she is awesome with watercolor) and copic.   Other than that we didn't have a plan.  Here is how my card turned out.  Click here to go to Lisa's watercolor post.   Please be sure to leave her a comment and tell her hello!

Here is the video I made showing my process:
(If you are in your email the video won't play. You need to go to youtube or my blog)

Okay...so I made two of them.  Practice. Practice Practice.
Copics are listed in the video.
