You Make Everything Better
Hello friends,
I love stamp sets that allow us to make fun, quick, and humorous cards. This set was released a few years ago by Stampin Up. It has a few items like chocolate, cookies, and cocktails in it. You can customize your card to fit the person's favorite things. I used a few different shades of brown to create these chocolate chip cookies. I also had some diamond dot in chocolate chip brown. I scattered them around the card to add to the crumbs. I think they catch the light and add the perfect amount of shine.

Tulip Tri-Fold
Hello friends,
I have another catch-up card to share with you. This is a trifold fun fold that we made back in April. I made a bunch of these for Birthdays and for Mother's day. I love the fold. However, it was really tricky to get the cut straight. I tried a couple times to get it straight with my paper trimmer. I was unsuccessful. You guys know me... I wasn't happy. I recruited a professional engineer to help me (it is amazing to have one on staff). With his help, we got the math right and mastered this tulip garden. I love how the flowers cover both sides of the card. What do you think? What other designs besides flowers would you like to try on this card?

Slimline Snow
Greetings,
I love snowman. They are always so happy. I don't know what they are happy about. It is cold and yucky outside... but they are happy. This is a set from Papertrey Ink. It captured my heart right away. I love the texture body of the snowman. It kind of reminds me of wood. I thought it was unique. The accessories in the set made it really easy to decorate this snow-person.
As a side note-- I used a white gel pen to add lots of details to the scarf, hat, and buttons.

Rainbow Blizzard
Welcome!
I'm still playing a little catch up on the blog. I made a bunch of these for my Christmas craft show last year. They went over really well. I think it is the rainbow snowflakes. Who doesn't love rainbow snowflakes? This was a toner panel that I purchased from Taylored Expressions (I think). I used rainbow toner foil in my minc machine to adhere the foil. I thought the panel was a little busy so I decided to cut them in half. This was a cool bonus because it made double the amount of cards I was originally planning!!! I think the balance in white space really helped the snowman pop off the background and gave the sentiment a place to rest. This is a new holiday favorite! I can't wait to make more of these!

To Shake or Not to Shake
Hello,
Welcome to another Christmas in July card. This card is made with a background stamp. The background stamp had multiple Santa faces featuring several different expressions. The stamp allows you to customize his hat style and color. I used glitter to add some shine to the band of his hat. It is a clever designed stamp by Taylored Expressions (sadly discontinued). I made one version of the card into a shaker card and left the other as a flat panel. Which one do you like better?

Hello,
I'm always on the look out for adorable birthday ideas. This is a new set out by MFT called Birthday Bites there are so many cute critters in it. This one caught my attention right away. I couldn't wait to get this inked up. I love the cheeky sentiment that MFT included in the set. It goes perfectly with these guys.

HOOMAN
Welcome friends,
This is for all my cat loving followers. There is nothing new about cats in a bookshelf. However Waffle flower made it so easy to create. The created a series of stencils that work together to create the books and then stamps with just the best book titles to add when done. I hope that they have a dog version in the works. It makes me wonder what the dogs would be doing. Sleeping on the couch? What do you think?

Most Expensive
Hello!
It is release day at Technique Junkies! Pat has another batch of amazing stamps. I'm using my favorite today. As soon as I saw it I had to make this card. I've had this die set in my stash from Spellbinders for a long time. It is a 3D shopping cart (I didn't use the 3D part). There are a bunch of accessories that you can put in the cart to customize it. It is perfect it looks just like my cart when I go to Costco. Just a mix of items I didn't know I needed!
I wanted to give this card a little bit of a purpose so I turned it into a fun fold. When the card is opened, it reveals a hidden gift card inside. I thought this would be perfect for someone who is going off to college, moving, or just bought their first house. I thought on the inside you could write something about how the gift card could help out. What do you think?
I hope you stop by and see all the other talented makes from the designers (links below). If you love this card please consider using my code to let me know and save and additional 10% on top of the sale price!

Summer Love Letters
Hello!
One of the most iconic things about the beach are the seashells. There is just something about them that fills our hearts with wonder. We all bring them home and put them in a special place. Every time we see them the sea calls us. They tie our hearts to a happier place. They are love letters in the sand.
To create my background I started wtih kraft cardstock. I sponged two different shades of brown ink onto the kraft. I tried to make it uneven. I was trying to create a sandy look. I then splattered the background with both shades of brown and then white pigment ink to add some contrast. Then I set this aside to dry. I used Seashell Dies to cut the shells out a variety of specialized paper. They all have a pearl or glitter finish to them. I sponged on a touch of brown ink (just whatever was left on the brush from creating the background). I arranged the shells and stamped the sentiment. I hope you love this card. I wish the camera could capture the shine. You will just have to trust me. :)

Merry Merry
Hello,
Look at these two. I think someone is about to get some revenge. This cute image was from a Stampin Up set (Does anyone know the name?). I had to have the set when I saw how these playful cuties. This is an A2 card but I trimmed the front panel down to expose the inside of the card a bit. I thought thought it spiced up the design. What do you think?

Watercolor Foil
Hello!
Well... Christmas in July right? I'm hoping to catch up on some of my Christmas posts this month. Let's be thankful for that we still have a few more months before that yucky white stuff falls from the sky.
Let's ease into this... this was done with a pre-purchased toner panel. I found green "watercolor" green foil. I thought it would be perfect for this tree scene. I wondered how it look on the snow. I actually love the green color! It is such a fun look. I finished the card off with a die cut sentiment and Santa from Taylored Expressions.

My Bucket Runneth Over
Hi!
I can remember as a kid sitting outside and watching birds fight over the french fries my dad was tossing to them at a McDonald's Play-Place. They were like little ninjas hopping out of no where to get the prized french fry. As an adult, I know they are probably awful for the birds, but they sure where happy. I must not have been the only kid with that experience because Waffle flower released this die set called Happy Seagull. You can fill their bucket with either fish or french fries. I love both versions.

Sunshine Gnome
Hi Gnomey! I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I've been enjoying all the summer things including the new summer gnomes. This Garden gnome jumped onto my desk and was just begging for some color. I did a little creative cropping to get him on this card. The butterfly was originally meant to on the right side of the gnome... but thankfully we was willing to flutter around to the other side. I actually think he balanced the card out really well.
I used some soft tie dye decorative paper as back ground paper. I think it added to the summer vibe. I hope you liked this garden gnome.. I can't wait to see who is next in my gnomie pile.

Sandy Shoes
Hello!
One of my favorite techniques it to color on kraft card stock with prismacolor colored pencils. I feel like the pencils almost glow on the darker card stock colors. In this case... the brown was even more appropriate because it gave the card a sandy background to go with the sentiment. I love when things come together like that! I hope you give this a technique a try.

Pet Sympathy
Hello,
No one likes making sympathy cards, but sadly we all need them. I really liked that I could switch the animal on the cloud to make it more personal. The sentiments all came from a MFT sentiment set. The cards are pretty simple, but they are heartfelt.
I originally made these cards in November of 2022. I've made remade them a few times to have them on hand.

Plenty of Fish
Hello!
This was a fun project. This stamp/stencil combo creates a panel (like you see on the left below). You are meant to turn that into a card and Viola! you have a card. The set does come with dies to cut out the fish. So I made a second panel and die cut all the fish to see wha tI could make with them... I ended up with three really fun cards. I stamped them a variety of sentiments so I can use them for Father's day and Birthdays. If you scroll down you can see close up of the cards. I'd love to know what you think of them. I really had fun playing with this set. I'd like to make more in different colors.

Just Wanted to Say...
Hello friends,
I did something I haven't done in awhile. I stamped all the images (okay stamped them several times) in a stamp set. I used my zig markers to add some color. I fussy cut them all out (they do make dies). I finished all the cards up the same way. I used a variety of background stamps to stamp the center panel. I stamped the panel tone on tone so it wouldn't distract from the main image. The strips were left over from other projects. This was the ultimate win. First, I used up some scraps. Second, they worked out great to anchor the images on the panel. Lastly, they paired perfectly with the "Just Wanted to say" sentiments. I love when it all comes together! Do you have a favorite of these critters?
