Wheat in Navy

Hello,

I have a simple card to share today.  I used a set from Stampin up.  I love it.  It kinda reminds me of wheat.   I had this pattern paper in my stash.  I used all 3 sheet to make a bunch of these to have on hand. I love the navy, black and white combo.  It has a very classic look.   I'll have to try it on a brown too.   What do you think of this set?

Message in a Bottle

Hello,

I'm posting this a little late.   I made this for Valentine's Day.   This from an older Stampin Up set.  I love the idea of the message in the bottle.  It made for some cute Valentines.

Snowflake Hugs

Hello friends,

This is one of those times where I wish the camera could catch all the details on the card.  These photos do not do this card justice.   The snowflake is cut from a sparkle paper.  It isn't glitter paper but just a soft sparkle.  The snowflake is also accented with purple diamond dots.  They all catch the light and add their own sparkle.   I mounted that on a wave of color that is sponged onto white card stock.   I hope you like the mix of white space and splash of color and sparkle.   Christmas is coming quick.  This is a great one to make several of if your stack is falling short.

Happy creating friends...

Blown Away by You

Welcome (or welcome back),

This is a really sweet image from the Glad We are Friends Stampin Up Stamp set.  In true to me form, I've had it for years and only just inked it up.  It was because of this little puppy that had to have it.  How cute is he?   I used the card sketch that came right from the SU catalog so I can't take credit for the design.  I just used papers that I had in my stash.  I didn't have any of the ones that SU recommended.  I love how it turned out.  What are your thoughts?  Would you change anything?

You Are Fierce

Hello!

I'm talking a little break from Halloween cards today.  This is an older set from Stampin up called Wild Cats.  I'm always been drawn to tigers.  There is just something magical about them.  I wasn't 100% sure about the art work in this set when it first came out.  I think it was actually in part because the sample in the catalog were made with some really (IMO) odd colors.  Once people started getting their hands on their stamp set and started creating with it, I was all in.  When they are in the natural colors I think they look stunning!  What do you think?

I have so many ideas for this stamp set, I can't wait to get it out again soon and try another idea.

Cutting Edge

Welcome,

I have a real short post today.    This die is made by stamping up (so sorry I don't know the name).  It comes in two two pieces.  At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the large chunk of space.  Then I remembered I had a few really large sentiments that I rarely use.  They fit perfectly.   I added one clay red heart to each one of them.  I really like how they turned out. I think I might make more of them.

Cherry on Top

Greetings!
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?  What a hard question.  It is all so good.  We have a local ice cream shop here that makes homemade cake batter ice cream and that might have to take the win.

In this case I let the decorative paper pick the colors.  Since white ice cream isn't all that fun to stamp... I went with pink (cherry or strawberry).   For the most part this is a monochromatic card.  It is all in the pink/red family.  It was fun to create.  The stamp set made the stamping really easy.  The class is supposed to be layered stamping.  I wasn't able to get that to work.  However, I think it looks fine with just one layer.   I hope some of this sweet treat finds it way to you really soon.  It is (almost) summer after all!
Happy Stamping friends,
Chris

Old Fashioned Hello

Hello,

Just a quick card for you today.  I love this old fashioned phone from Stampin up.  We used to have one hanging on the wall at the cottage.  My sister and I used to play with a lot as a kid.  I wonder if my child would know how to use it to call someone if he had to use one.  It would be so much fun to see him try.

I picked a bright color because I wanted the phone to be the focal point and star of the card since it was so simple.  I love how the phone cord spells out "hey" and offers a simple greeting for the front.

Sending a Smile Your Way

Hello,

Just a quick card to share today.  I found this card sketch on pinterest.  It is such a simple sketch.  I love that it make the butterfly the focal point.  It was however really hard to find paper in my stash that worked for this technique.   Most of Stampin up paper is double sided.  I don't have much Stampin up designer paper. I'm sure you could use anything, but part of the magic is the monochromatic theme going on here.

If you were to try this, what would you do?  I really want to explore this sketch more.  Help me brainstorm.

Bone-Jour

Bone-Jour,

I'm still on my mission to use up some pattern paper.  I found this paper in a one of the many packs collecting dust.  I'm not really sure exactly is going on in the paper, but I see skeleton keys, skulls and spiders.  It was definitely Halloween-y.  I  went with a floating split-panel card.   The floating panel is hiding a cute little skeleton dog.   This card it way too cute to be spooky!

You Make Everything Better

 Hello friends,

I love stamp sets that allow us to make fun, quick, and humorous cards.   This set was released a few years ago by Stampin Up.  It has a few items like chocolate, cookies, and cocktails in it.  You can customize your card to fit the person's favorite things.   I used a few different shades of brown to create these chocolate chip cookies.   I also had some diamond dot in chocolate chip brown.  I scattered them around the card to add to the crumbs.   I think they catch the light and add the perfect amount of shine.

Tulip Tri-Fold

Hello friends,

I have another catch-up card to share with you.   This is a trifold fun fold that we made back in April.  I made a bunch of these for Birthdays and for Mother's day.  I love the fold.  However, it was really tricky to get the cut straight.  I tried a couple times to get it straight with my paper trimmer.  I was unsuccessful.   You guys know me... I wasn't happy.  I recruited a professional engineer to help me (it is amazing to have one on staff).   With his help, we got the math right and mastered this tulip garden.   I love how the flowers cover both sides of the card.  What do you think?  What other designs besides flowers would you like to try on this card?

Merry Merry

 Hello,

Look at these two.  I think someone is about to get some revenge.  This cute image was from a Stampin Up set  (Does anyone know the name?).   I had to have the set when I saw how these playful cuties.   This is an A2 card but I trimmed the front panel down to expose the inside of the card a bit.  I thought thought it spiced up the design.   What do you think?

Getting Back Into the Fold

 Hello

I love fun folds.  It has been a while since I've had some time to play so I started off with a simple one.  This is just a standard z-fold pattern.    I found this really pretty floral paper in a paper pad I had.  I thought it captured the essence of this woman perfectly.  She just looks so free and happy.  I hope that comes across in the card design as well.

Copic Colors used:

Red: R37, R35, R32, R30.    I added some clear wink of stella to add some sparkle.

Poppy Paper

 Hello all,

This is just a real quick post today.  I couldn't resist sharing.  I just love this card.  Stampin up released this Poppy Paper a few years back.  I happen to find a partially used pack of it at a garage sale this Spring.  I just finished the card off by adding a sentiment.  The paper did all the hard work.    Thank you all for stopping by!

Sea Turtles

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today.   The swap theme for this month (May)is Mermaids and Ocean.  I was inspired by our trip in February.  We visited an sea turtle hospital in Florida keys.  We learned that all species of sea turtles are endangered.   I can't imagine a world without them.   I hope that by celebrating them and getting the word out we can reduce plastics and pollutants in the water.  There is space for everyone on this planet.

To create this card I stamped the turtle in green on Ivory cardstock and then again in brown on Kraft cardstock.  I cut the brown shell out and popped it up on the cut out green turtle.  I created a fun aquatic scene by stamping bubbles and fish.

Materials:
Sea Turtle- Stampin Up

Paper: Neenah:
colored cardstock from stampin up

Other:
Bearly Art Glue- Amazon or Taylored Expressions--best glue ever! especially for small places!

Faker Shaker

 Greetings,

Another catch up day.  I didn't get all the my Christmas cards posted.  This is one of my favorites. I was originally thinking of this as just a flat panel... but then I had the thought to turn it into a Faker Shaker card.  Faker shakers are so easy to make and they are easier to mail than a real shaker card.   Have you guys tried making a faker shaker yet?

Peace at Christmas

 Welcome,

Playing a little catch up.  This is a new silhouette stamp by Stampin Up.  I love the simplicity of the image.  it creates such a peaceful and elegant scene.  I used an two different ombre stamp pads to create the sky.  I love how it shift colors.  I think it looks more realistic.  What color scheme to you like better?

Bring on the Color

 Hello friends,

I always hate to see summer fade.  At least fall takes the sting out of it by giving us beautiful colors to admire.  The leaves are just starting to change here.  I'm doing my best to get on board! This stamp is called Soft Seedling by Stampin Up.  It didn't catch my eye right away, but after seeing so many wonderful cards made with it. I had to have it.  I inked it up as soon as the UPS guy dropped it off.

What is your favorite season?  Do you have a favorite part of Fall?
