On Par

 Hello all,

I've been trying to write this blog post for days... every time I sit down the phone rings, or a toddler beckons.   For those of you who have been waiting patiently for this I thank you!  I wish my life was a little calmer, but I'm trying to embrace the chaos.

This is one of my favorites of the gnome series.  I have no clue why.  I don't really enjoy golf but this guy is just so stinkin' cute.    I colored this up two versions.  Which color combo do you like better?

What Little Girls are Made of...

 Hello!

I love this new stamp "What Little Girls Are Made of".  My dad had two girls but he was determined that we were going to be able to take care of ourselves.  He used to wrestle with us, teach us to use power tools, and change the oil in our cars.  He said we could be anything but fragile.   At the time, I didn't really think anything of it, but now as a grown woman I appreciate all the things I can do.  Mostly, I'm thankful that I'm not afraid to try.  I'm glad the words we use to describe women are changing.   Look out world... a new generation of strong, talented, and confident women are on the way...

Bee my Gnomie

 Hello,

I can't believe how fast Valentine's day is creepin' up.   Can we vote and push that back a month?  I'm not going to lie.  I still have Christmas stamps on my desk.  I'm trying to wrap up unfinished projects.    The probably will finish themselves up, right?

Well to take my mind off of the mess, I decided to create a new one.   My friend (Kimberly) and I noticed that all of sudden bees are everywhere.   Bees seem to be a trending for Valentine's day.  How could I not jump on the band wagon.  I have planned out a few different bee cards to share with you before Feb 14th!  My first card features a gnomie from Unity.  This little bee keeper is enjoying a sweet treat.  I colored the pots in 3 different colors.   Do you have a favorite?    Did you know at the bottom every blog post, I share all my copic colors if I used them?

Materials:

Stamps:
Sentiments from Honeybee stamps
Dies:
Hexagon cover plate - very similar to what I used.

Paper:
paper from Stampin' Up
Yellow polka dot purchased at Hobby Lobby

Other:
Inka Gold to add some shine to a few of the honeycombs.  They no longer make Inka Gold... it is called Solar paste.  Same thing
Copics are listed at the bottom of post

I wasn't really sure where I was going from here.... but I kept on the bee theme.  Here is how they turned out.  I made 10 cards in total.

Close up of the Inka Gold-  just adds a shine.  Solar paste will do something very similar

Giant Snowflakes

Hello,

This morning as I type this small snowflakes are falling from the sky.  It is a bit windy outside so they are not falling straight down but rather darting around.  It is really beautiful.

I love this new die by Spellbinders.  It makes a shaped card.  It is a large die it is 6 inches across.   The dies comes with some small floral dies to accent the snowflake.  I don't think I would have thought to put flowers on a snowflake, but it really is festive and fun.  I finished off each with a foiled sentiment and wink of stella to add some sparkle.

Lion Love

 Hello,

Valentine's Day is the second most popular for sending cards.  Have you started thinking about the cards you will send this year?   I used to think of making just one card for my hubby, but now I like to make cards for all my friends....especially the ones that need a little extra love at this time of year.   This lion stamp is so sweet.  It is two female lions sharing a hug.  I think it will be perfect to send to a girlfriend that needs a pick-me-up.

Party Hard

Hello friends,

Did you have an exciting New Year's eve?  We have two little kids, so our "party" usually involves a Disney movie and Sparkling apple juice.   It doesn't stop us from enjoying the evening.  We had our turn to be in the party scene.

I thought this little bird was perfect for New Years.  I hope you get a little chuckle out of him.

Inside:  I walked across the dance floor to get another drink and won the dance competition.

Inside:  It is called A LOT.

Amnesia

Happy New Year!

The New Year often signifies a fresh start or new beginning.  What plans or changes do you want to make for the new year?  I'm not huge into making a lot of changes.  We all know that the big joke is the changes last for a month (if you are lucky) and we go back to old habits.  My goal is a get back into scrapbooking.  I used to make 1-2 layouts a month but when the holiday crept in, I lost my footing.  I haven't made anything since August.

To celebrate the New Year and to inspire some creativity, Technique Junkies launched a new set of  stamps.  As you know I'm always on the lookout for a funny stamp.  I loved the "Amnesia" stamp immediately.   You can see my card below.   Be sure to scroll down and see the rest of the design teams creations.  I wish you all a crafty year.
