Simply Soft

Hello Stampers!

 

It is my honor to be a guest designer for www.stampingscrapping.com for October.  Each week I will feature a different technique with a Magnolia stamp.  

 

Week 4: Flower Soft

 

This week is celebrating Flower Soft.  

 

Flower soft is a great product.  It adds a little texture and dimension to your stamping projects.  The most obvious thing to use flower soft on is flowers, but you imagination is the limit.  you can use to on anything.   Today I used Tilda with Spring Bundle to make my flower soft card.

Flower soft makes a glue to use specifically with their product.  However, I like to use it with Stickles.  It give a little sparkle to the flowers.

Exceptionaly Easy E's

Week 3: Sepia Tones or E-card or only using E copics to color image

Week 4: Flower Soft

Fall is a prefect time of year to play around browns.  I used Autumn Tilda with broom and log stamp. I punched out a variety leaves and sponged them with brown ink.  Lastly I used Liquid Pearls to accent the image.

I only used E's to color the image.  Below is the list:
Hair: E50, E51, E53, E31
Skin: E000, E00, E13, E11
Pants: E44, E43, E41
Scarf: E99, E97, E95, E93
Boots: E77, E74, E71, E70
Grass: E87, E84, E81
Log: E29, E27, E15, E11
Broom: E11, E15, E35

Week 2: Dry Embossing

This week is all about Embossing!  Dry embossing used to be a chore!  I can remember getting out the light box, stylus and a brass stencil.  We spent hours tracing designs onto paper, hoping that in the end you could see or at least feel the efforts.   Then in the early 2000's we were bitten by the bug; the Cuttlebug!

There is a strange satisfaction that can only be experienced by placing a piece of card stock into an embossing folder and running it through your favorite die cutting machine.  A mini celebration each time you take out your newly embossed card stock!

This week, I challenge you to make a card using Tilda and embossing!  Check out the pumpkin I made.

BeWitched by Masking

Hello Stampers!

It is my honor to be a guest designer for www.stampingscrapping.com for October.  Each week I will feature a different technique with a Magnolia stamp.  

Week 1: Masking
Week 2: Dry Embossing
Week 3: Sepia Tones or E-card or only using E copics to color image
Week 4: Flower Soft

Week One is all about Masking!  This technique perfect for Tilda cards.  It gives the stamper the ability to position Tilda on furniture or in front of scenery.   

Witch Tilda

I will do my best to explain how I used this technique to create this card.   I'm only human, so if you have a question. PLEASE ask!!

Step 1:  Stamp Tilda in Memento Ink on white Card stock

Step 2: Stamp Tilda in Memento ink on top of post it note or scrap piece of card stock.   This will become your mask.

Step 3:  Cut the Tilda you stamped on the post it note or scrap paper out.  Do your best to get as close to the lines as possible.

Step 4:  Place your mask on top of the Tilda you stamped on your original piece of card stock. 

Step 5: Stamp the African Sunset on top of your masked image.

Step 6: Remove mask.   The mask should have protected Tilda from getting any ink on her.  The Sunset image should be in the background. 

Step 7: Color and finish your card as desired.

Additional Note:  I cut a mask for the "moon".  Then put the mask for the moon and Tilda back on my original card stock.  Then I sponged purple ink create the sky.    The masked protected my colored images from the sponge.
