Thinking of You

Hello,

I love the new things that companies are coming out with.  This is a stencil/embossing folder  combination.   I used white pigment ink on the craft card stock.  I love the way white pops off the brown.   To add some shine I used glitter pens to add in the veins of the flowers and leaves.   These were so much fun.  I can't wait to try them in some other colors.

Rain Makes Room

Hello,

It has been a rainy June around here.  I hope that the sun can push through the cloud soon.   The temperature of the water is much colder than normal as a result.    This bird (from Unity) makes me forget about that.  He is just so sweet.  I love that he has arms to hold the umbrella.     I don't know if you can see in the photo but the background is embossed with tiny raindrops.    I freehanded cut the sentiment.  Not sure if I like it or not.   What do you think?

Brighten Your Day

Hey,, Is it Spring Yet?

I feel like that is what this little bunny is peeking in to see.  Isn't he cute?   It doesn't have to be an Easter card, but it is hard not to think Easter when you see a bunny.     Maybe that would be a fun challenge...making bunny cards that have nothing to do with Spring or Easter.  Who is in?

Bee my Gnomie

 Hello,

I can't believe how fast Valentine's day is creepin' up.   Can we vote and push that back a month?  I'm not going to lie.  I still have Christmas stamps on my desk.  I'm trying to wrap up unfinished projects.    The probably will finish themselves up, right?

Well to take my mind off of the mess, I decided to create a new one.   My friend (Kimberly) and I noticed that all of sudden bees are everywhere.   Bees seem to be a trending for Valentine's day.  How could I not jump on the band wagon.  I have planned out a few different bee cards to share with you before Feb 14th!  My first card features a gnomie from Unity.  This little bee keeper is enjoying a sweet treat.  I colored the pots in 3 different colors.   Do you have a favorite?    Did you know at the bottom every blog post, I share all my copic colors if I used them?

Materials:

Stamps:
Sentiments from Honeybee stamps
Dies:
Hexagon cover plate - very similar to what I used.

Paper:
paper from Stampin' Up
Yellow polka dot purchased at Hobby Lobby

Other:
Inka Gold to add some shine to a few of the honeycombs.  They no longer make Inka Gold... it is called Solar paste.  Same thing
Copics are listed at the bottom of post

I wasn't really sure where I was going from here.... but I kept on the bee theme.  Here is how they turned out.  I made 10 cards in total.

Close up of the Inka Gold-  just adds a shine.  Solar paste will do something very similar

Umbrella Turn About

 Hello!

I've been a long time fan of turn-about-stamps.  I've made a few videos showing how to use them (Leaves or Rainbow part 1 or part 2).  They always create stunning backgrounds.   This time was no exception.  I chose to use a soft color palette on this card allowing the die cut umbrella to take center stage.  I'd love to know... what colors would you use to create this card?

Materials:

Stamps:  Concord and 9th

Tag- Easter Chick

 Hello. (again)!

This is my second post of the day.  I'm playing a little catch up.  I know Easter has passed, but these are so cute I wanted to post.    I made these for the Easter class at the Senior center.  We had so much fun putting these together.  I love the eyes on the bird all the way to the right.  He looks like he just learned that bunnies lay eggs on Easter too! 😂😂😂😂.

I hope you all had a great Easter with your families!

Chris

Baby, Bunnies, and Balloons

 Hello,

It has been awhile since I've made a slim line card.  I forgot how addictive that is!  Spellbinders released this bunny die in March 2022.   I think this was intended to be an Easter card, but in my head I see it as a baby card.  What do you think?

Materials linked below-

Stenciled Flowers

 Hello stampers!

I'm so impressed with how much stencils have changed.  When I first started stamping, they were a must have in the craft room, but it was because we needed them to create circles and shapes for our cards.  There was no such thing as a die cut machine at that time.    Once die cutting came about, stencils faded into the background but this resurgence has made me fall in love all over again.   This card is so easy and fast to make because of stencils.  The only stamp I used was sentiment.

Sentiment: MFT

Spring Wreath with Bunny

Hi!

Bunnies are cute yearound, but they are extra cute at Easter.  I love this new die set from Taylored Expressions.   Their new Squad die made these really easy and fun to make.  I recently purchased an animal face stamp set from Peachy Keen stamps.  These bunnies were the perfect size.  I'm absolutely in smitten with their expression.  I can't wait to make a bunch more of these.

Eggs in a Basket

Welcome,

I'm having fun rediscovering watercolor pencils.  They go so well with CCC stamps.  I created a mask for the bunnies and used a Blender brush to add the soft blue sky.  I love how these brushes let you apply a light about of color without brush marks on the paper.  I will be doing this much more often on future cards.  I hope you will give it a try.

Materials:

Watercolor Pencils-- really loving these
Double stitch Border- ( Amazon or Scrapbook.com)
Versafine Black (Amazon or Scrapbook.com)
Tumbled glass ink for the sky
Blending brush for sky --- love these!!

No copics today.  I used watercolor pencils instead.  LOVE THEM.

Lucky Leprechaun

 Happy St. Patrick's Day,

My hubby helped me put together this little leprechaun. I had the idea, but he helped me figure out all the measurements.   His face lifts up to reveal your personal message.  I'm so glad he supports my crazy ideas!

I hope you all have a Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Hugs,
Chris

Four Leaf Clover

Top of the Mornin' to ya!

I often forget about using negative space.  We usually use the die cut, rather than the surrounding paper on cards.    I really like how the pretty St. Patrick's Day paper shows through the shamrock.   I raised the panel up on dimensional foam to add a little more interest.   Definitely one of my favorite St. Patty Day cards!

Lucky Leprechaun Shaped Card - with video

Greetings,

I saw a kid's craft project where kids traced and put shapes together to make a leprechaun's face.  What a cool idea for a card!  I showed it to my IT guy (aka husband).  He is also crafty and was able to draw out the basic shapes in our silhouette program.   In no time at all we had a shaped card.  I love it!

He fits in an A2 envelope.  He is so adorable!  Thank you to my hubby for dealing with my Shenanigans!

I used Art Impressions' Sham-rock set for sentiments.

24 Carrot Friend

 Greetings,

Stamp companies are getting to be so creative.  I love how they are making dies that cut out the hands of critters so they can hold various items.  This little bunny is meant to be holding a cup of coffee/tea.  I thought it would be fun fill his arms with carrots.  It pairs perfectly with this sentiment.  It might be my new favorite Easter sentiment.  Gosh it is cute!

Wee Bit of Luck

Hello friends,

I bought this St. Patty's Day stamp last year and it has been sitting on my table for a full year.   I couldn't let this holiday go by without getting some ink on it.  I just think this frog is super cute!

It has been a popular idea to cut stipes of paper to decorate part or all of a card.  I thought I'd give it a try. I cut up a bunch of green cardstock and green glitter cardstock.  I wanted them to be all different widths. Then just glued them to the white base until they met the frog's feet.  It was are really easy background to create.
