Birthdays Multiplied

Hello,

I love when I can make multiples of cards.  These cards are from a quad stencil from Taylored Expressions.   It makes it really easy to make a stack of birthday cards in an afternoon.    I used the colors Cotton Candy, Candy Corn, Pineapple and Lollipop to create 4 backgrounds, then decorated them with stars and a sentiment.    If you were going to do a boy set, how would you change up the colors?

Duck, Duck, Goose

Hello,

Lawn fawn is now manufacturing stencils that you can use to color in your images.  It is a huge time saver.  I was curious on how well they worked, so I ordered a set.  I love the results.   I will be ordering more of these!!

Thinking of You

Hello,

I love the new things that companies are coming out with.  This is a stencil/embossing folder  combination.   I used white pigment ink on the craft card stock.  I love the way white pops off the brown.   To add some shine I used glitter pens to add in the veins of the flowers and leaves.   These were so much fun.  I can't wait to try them in some other colors.

Yappy Birthday

Hello,
This little puppy stamp is just so so sweet.   I wanted to find a way to him up.   It is a bit different for me because I didn't color up the dog.  I let the balloons be the pops of color.  He is just so cute... He didn't need a thing.   I think I might make more of these in different colors.  Any suggestions?

The Best Flower Technique

Greetings Friends,

It is winter..  Do you think that the words "winter" and "yuck" could possibly mean the same thing?   I'm so ready for the crocuses to pop up.    Since the groundhog seems to think we have a ways to go, I'll have to settle for this paper flowers.

I used one of my favorite techniques on this card.  I used a Taylored Expressions stencil to create this unique flower combo.  I thought it needed a little something to I jazzed it up with an embossing folder.  I love the texture that it gives.  It is so much fun to touch. Do you have a favorite trick to jazz up a stamped panel?

Winter Leaves

Hello friends,

I wish Winter was leaving.  It technically isn't even here yet.   I'm playing around with some stencils and a new set from Unity.  I love the softness.   I tried to keep all the tones  the same to the green and the star would be the pop of color.   It would hard to make a lot of these cards, but that makes them even more special.

Little Piggy

Hey there friends,

Check out this guy.  How adorable is this pig?!  I know sunflowers are sometimes considered a fall flower, but I couldn't wait to get inky with this stencil set.  It is by a company call Miss Ink.  It is a really small company.  It will not be my last purchase.  I love all the detail they fit into the stencil set.     Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you have a great day!

Retro Christmas

Hello!
I'm continuing on with my Christmas in July catch up party.  This card breaks from the traditional a bit.  I used some neon ink colors to create the ornaments on the tree. I think it gives the card a more retro look.  I also used yellow greens for the tree rather than the traditional earthy greens.  I finished the card off with lots of sparkle the star and with glitter stars on the tree.  I think will make more of these before Christmas. What do you think of the nontraditional take on the tree?

JAWS- A celebration

Hello,
I couldn't resist jumping in on all the celebration of JAWS.   Honestly, I've never seen the movie.  I love the water and I want to keep it that way.    I prefer to keep my sharks on cards and in scrapbooks!

We created this bubbly background with the new stencil by Spellbinders.  I love it.  I think it might be one of my "go to" stencils when I'm working on water scenes.   I used a few colors (blueprint sketch, mermaid lagoon and salty ocean) of distress inks to add layers.  I splattered with some black ink to add a bit of texture then added the sharks.    So far one of my favorite summer cards!  Thank you to Speilberg for the inspiration.

Crazy Eight Stencil Class Akron 2025

 Hello friends.

Thank you so much for joining me for class today.  It was pleasure to meet you.   I love these quad stencils.  I love that you are making a set of coordinating cards to help refill your card box or to give them as a gift.    You can buy the ones we used at Taylored Expressions.  I would appreciate it,  if you told them I sent you.  Just write you took Chris O'Malley's class in Akron.  It might help us get a discount next year!

1. Remember to fill in the four tiny boxes on the edge of the stencils for perfect alignment.   On some stencils it really matters and the only way to get good placement.

2. Remember to blend in circles and in both directions

3. When you are done blending trip 1/4 inch off each side of your paper.  Then cut at 4 inch and then at 5.25 inches.  You should end up with four panels.

4. When I finish my panels off into cards.  I personally like to keep them simple.  Look for places to anchor your sentiments, so they are not just floating.   I love using tags, or vellum circles to help the sentiment stand out from a busy background.

Freedom Post

Happy Veterans Day!

Thank you to all the men and women who have sacrificed for our country.  There are no words that could ever express how thankful we all are for your service.

I wanted to share a Patriotic card today. Just to celebrate the Red, White and Blue.  This is the postage die from Waffle flower.  It has been very popular.  They created stencils that coordinate with it.  They are available in a variety of different themes.    I've had a lot of fun creating with this. I can't wait to play with  other sets.

 Hey friends!

Companies keep getting smarter and smarter.  Stencils have changed paper crafting again.  Companies have figured out that they can break them apart to layer them to color in complicated images such as this one.   This card doesn't actually use a single rubber stamp.  It isn't very often I can say that.  The image is foiled to with a hot plate and gold foil.  I used yellow diamond dots to accent the flowers.  I love the elegance that foil gives to the card (it doesn't show up in the photos very well :🙁 )

HOOMAN

Welcome friends,

This is for all my cat loving followers.   There is nothing new about cats in a bookshelf.  However Waffle flower made it so easy to create.  The created a series of stencils that work together to create the books and then stamps with just the best book titles to add when done.    I hope that they have a dog version in the works.  It makes me wonder what the dogs would be doing.   Sleeping on the couch?  What do you think?

A Trip Around The Sun

Hello friends,

These cards were from a kit that I purchased from Taylored Exressions a while back.  They do not sell it as a kit anymore, but the individual items are available.   The part of this card that I think is magic is the background panels are able to be foiled.   I used a holographic gold foil that catches the light really well.   The rays of the sun are stenciled.  The sun is stamped.. then die cut with the clouds.   It is a fairly easy card but the results are bright and cheery.  It has become a favorite!

Piece of Cake

Hello,

One of my favorite things I learned this year was foiling.   Toner foil is definitely the easiest ways to get the shiny look.  Taylored Expressions has made it ever easier by selling foil panels.   The toner foil sticks to the panels with ease.  For this set of cards, I used gold foil, but I think this card would look good in any color.  They also created coordinating stencils to add color to each layer of cake.  I used these colors to create my rainbow cake. Taylored Expressions Ink- GuavaPumpkinPineapple, Key Lime, and Cookie Monster.

 Hello friends,

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  What is not to love?  You get to dress silly, eat candy and it is pretty much stress free.

Stencils are becoming more and more popular. Four of these cards were created by using a stencil set by Taylored Expressions.   The fifth card is created using a reverse background stamp.  I embellished the cards by using a glitter gel pen,  spooky dies, and sentiment strips.   I love how they turned out. Can you guess which one is my favorite (listed at the bottom)?   Do you have a favorite? I'd love to know.
