My Monthly Hero December 2017

Hello all,

I'm a little late in posting this.  I finished the video and cards before Christmas, but couldn't find time during the holiday rush to post photos of the cards.

I was reading some feedback posts about this kit in several groups and it I know many were unhappy with it.  There are still kits available and that is really unusual for a kit not to sell out.  Personally I liked the kit.  I didn't have anything like it in my stamp collection.   I think kit made some really great masculine cards.

You will notice a theme when you look at my set of cards.  I guess when I think of deserts... I think of sunsets.  I used a distress oxide inks to create some sunset backgrounds.   I really like how these turned out.  I hope you enjoy them too.  If you would like to watch the video click here.

Wild Wings- Butterfly Folio

Hello!

Today's card is non-traditional.  I found this small stamp company at the convention.  I'm sorry I can't remember their name.  They made these stamps that create a "Folio".  The are available in a few designs.  I purchased the butterfly/wildflower design.

The card opens up leaving room for a greeting, photograph, or room for a post-it note pad.  The posibilites are endless.

On the back of the card there is a place to write a personal note.

If the panels are folded in the opposite order, then you see wildflowers design.  I thought this is a really cool and unique card!

Victory is Always Possible

Hello Stampers!

I finished another card using a Saturated Canary Stamp.  I used the "Pitcher" stamp from CHA release.   I really like the idea of this card.  I thought this sentiment went perfectly with the image.   I get a lot of requests for card for people battling Breast Cancer.  This card will work for well for anyone going through a tough time.   I wish there was a little more room on the card.  They are a little squished together.

Toad You

I purchased this stamp many years ago from a company called Mostly Animals.  Sadly, the company is no longer around.    Last week I was asked to host a coloring contest at the local youth center.  I wanted to find a challenging image that would appeal to kids of all ages.   These Toads were PERFECT!

The kids did a great job with their Toads.  I loved watching them work.  They aren't afraid to experiment with color or draw in more scenery.  It was a very hard contest to judge!

So Eggciting

This Tilda card is from the new Easter Magnolia collection.  Hiding Eggs Tilda is one of my favorite, stamps from this collection.   She is fun and fast to color.   I used an old Stampin Up stamp to create the grass at the bottom.  I stamped the grass twice before re-inking to create more depth.

I hope Spring has come your way!

If Raindrops were Kisses

  Hello All,

I just got home for a double header of classes.  It is a long day, but I love seeing all my stamping friends.   I wanted to dedicate this card to Donna.  Donna woke up on Wednesday and couldn't see!  She is currently still in the hospital.  All we know is there is an issue with her retinas.  Do you remember the days when a kiss was all it took to make it feel better?  In hopes that still works, we are sending Donna a storm.
I love the sentiment of this card.  Could it be any sweeter?  I think I'm going to pair this with Tilda with the umbrella.  It will make a great spring card.

I finished the umbrella off with some glitter on the lace.

Lots of Love

I love this Tilda stamp.  It was a special release to stamp from Magnolia.  The proceeds of each stamp sold went to help Breast Cancer research.  Who could pass that up?  I thought the "Raining Hearts" stamp would be perfect for Valentine's Day.

The sentiment stamp is from a Unity Stamp Set.  The lace hearts in matched the lace on her dress.

I chose blue to color her dress.  I thought it would be nice in pink, but I had seen so many cards in pink.  I wanted to do something different.   What do you think?

Happy Friday,
Chris

Kick Up Your Heels

Kraftin' Kimmie
I'm smitten with a Kraftin Kimmie.  It isn't a new stamp company, but it is to me.  This is my first Kraftin Kimmie stamp.  I love how it turned out!  It makes me want to Kick Up MY Heals!

A Child is Born

My heart goes out to anyone that was affected by the storm.  We were very blessed. We experienced a lot of rain and wind, but no damage.    I hope this post finds you warm and safe!
