I went a little old school today with my card.   I think this embossing folder (by cuddlebug) might be 15 years old.  I think it has held up over time. I'm glad I can still get some use out of it.    The cake is from IO.  You can see it by clicking here.  It is a really nice stamp to have in your stash.  I often stamp it on envelopes when sending out birthday cards.

Snow Family

Hello all!

I'm sorry I've been absent for the last week or so.  Connor and I had a great trip to Thailand. I promise to share some photos and stories after we get them sorted.  Between the two of us, we managed to take over 5000 photos.  I know...I little crazy.  

Adjusting back to life at home was a little rough.  There is a 12 hour time difference between Thailand and New York.  The jet lag hit me hard. I felt like a walking zombie most of last week.  I'm feeling better now, and chipping away at my "to do" list.    I'm excited to get back to a normal schedule.   So THANK YOU all for your patience with me.

Happy Throw-back Thursday,

An excuse to catch up, right?  I made this card way back in March, but it never made it on the blog.

This is a super simple card.  I love the idea of mixing textures, but still keeping the clean and simple look to the card.  It is hard to see in the photo, but the blue moon has wood grain texture in it.  I got this pattern by stamping on a embossing folder.  The bird is also stamped with script texture.

Bonsai Hope

Hello Stampers, 

We live in a world of Blu Rays and HD streaming.  We have instant access to movies 24 hours a day!  It is amazing.  Do you remember Beta tapes?  They existed for a short time before VHS tapes.  We had a Beta player until just a few years ago.   Despite my nostalgic protests, my mom donated it.  My parents would only allow us to watch movies when it was raining outside.   We only had a few movies to choose from.   The Karate Kid was a family favorite.   This card reminds of the film, rainy afternoons, and an age when things were simpler. 

I hope sparks a happy memory for you..

Important Ingredients

Connor and I wanted to try a new class at the gym last night.  It was called Zumba Toning.  We love traditional Zumba and thought this could be a fun deviation from our normal workout.  It was a great class.    When I woke up this morning... everything hurts.   My toothbrush felt like a ten pound weight this morning.   It is hard not to laugh at myself as I limp through the day.   I'm excited to go back to class next week, clearly these muscles need some work.

Todays's card is made with "Oops Tilda" by Magnolia.  The stamp paired well with the sentiment.

Spring Has Sprung

Hello!
It has been a while since my last post.  I have been busy preparing a new group of set of classes for the Spring session of classes.   Earlier this week, I have my first set of classes with new stampers.  Their projects turned out beautifully!   I’m so honored that I was able to welcome them into this new world.

I’m still loving Magnolia.  They released new images a few weeks ago and I’m working on inking them all up.  Check out Tilda’s new family.

As you can see I tried the card in blue, pink and yellow.  I love the pink one.  I might rework the baby boy card with patterned paper.  I’m hoping it will add a bit more interest.  What do you think?
