All About Winter

Hello!

That white, cold stuff is falling from the sky.  It may be cold, but it does make everything look beautiful.  This penguin seems to be enjoying herself.   She is from a die set called Winter Squad.  I placed her right above the word "Winter" to highlight the word.  I used sparkle gel pens to add polka dots to her scarf.   I love all the sparkle.   These new background stamps make perfect backdrops to these characters.

Seahorses and Sunshine

Hello all,

I think this is the longest I've gone without posting on my blog.  I have missed it.   Declan just turned 5 month old.  He is adorable and developing a personality.  His smile will melt your heart.  We did have a few crazy months there.   My husband had to travel for 5 weeks for work.  Leaving me home with a newborn and 5 year old.  Declan was colicky and doesn't sleep for more than 2 hours.   My mom helped out a bunch, but it was pretty much survival mode around here.   Things are slowly getting back to "normal"...and thankfully I'm able to get back to card making.

This is one of the first cards I made.  I wanted to do something easy and fun.  I used watercolor pigment powders to make the ocean background.  I love watching the pigments move on the cardstock.  It always makes me wonder why I don't do this stuff more often.

I hope you have enjoyed the first card back... I hope to have more cards and baby photos soon.  One step at a time right?

Layers of Hugs

 Hi!

I wanted to try a new color combo with Birch Press layering dies.  These dies create such a cool effect.  I love how this card turned out.  I can't wait to make a few more!

Darling Butterfly

Hello Darling Friend,

I love layering dies.  They make for such simple and elegant cards.   I can't wait to make a few more of these in different colors.  What colors do you suggest?

As the Snow Falls

Greetings,

I love snowflakes.  I also love layering dies.  They were a perfect for these cards.  I was able to make two cards from the birch press die.  I used the outer layer for the first one. I used a series of blue and purple cardstocks.  The snowflakes are from Stampin Up.

I used the inner rings for the second card.  The card base is a soft grey.  I stamped a snowflake background from Gina K.   The inside stamp is from Unity.    These cards are fairly simple to make, but it took some time to glue all the die layers together.   I hope you enjoyed these cards.

Thinking of You- Leaves

Hello all,

Another rainy day in NY.   It is better than snow.  I'll take it.

I'm really loving the leaf background by Concord and 9th.  I couldn't resist inking it up again.  I liked stamping on colored card stock. I usually stamp on white.      I made a video using this stamp on a fall card.  I hope you will check it out.  Click here to see video.

America is Proud

Hello friends,

I'm asked often for cards to send to someone serving our country.  I thought it would be fun to make a red-white-blue card using this layering die.  I love the way it turned out.    The sentiment if from the Blue Knight Rubber stamps collection.  They have a wonderful selection of military stamps.

Unicorn

Hi there!

I've been playing with dragons a lot lately.  I thought it was time to show the unicorns some love.   I love this unique take on unicorn.  It doesn't show in the photos, the ear, horn and flowers are covered in glitter.  Love the shine!

Just Beacuse- video

Hello friends,

I'm loving the Fall releases this year.  I've been playing a lot with the Honey Bee and Concord and 9th dies/stamps.   I thought I'd share my favorite card.   It features a Turn About Stamp and kissing technique.   I hope you enjoy!

A piece of Sunshine

Hello friends,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I had a craft show near Rochester, NY.  It was so nice to chat and talk people about card making.  I felt honored that people took time to look and purchase some of my cards.   Thank you all who came out to say Hello.

Today's card was a new technique for me.  It is about die cutting a panel into several pieces and then sponging them so they are different colors.  It wasn't hard to do, but it was a lot of steps.  I love the dimension and trying different color schemes.  I hope to try some more of these in the future.  What a fun technique.

Sending Hugs

Greetings,

We have been having a lot of fun with layering dies in class.  They create such fun and elegant cards.  It was requested that we make one in shades of purple.   It took me a bit to find shades that worked well together, but it was worth the work.

I made two versions of this card.  I couldn't decide which one I liked better.  What do you think?

Layered Dies

Hello stamping buddies,

What will stamp companies think of next?  I love layering stamps... and now we have layering dies.  I love how realistic this flower is.  It was a little bit of a pain to figure out how to assemble it, but it was worth the trouble.

Happy Friday!

I'm meeting with the Brockport group tonight to make the Card Lover's Cards.  I'm really excited to see everyone.  This set of cards is challenging, but they will do great.

Here is one of the Valentine's Card we are making tonight.  I the classic look of this card.  I think I'll be making a bunch of these!

Twin Deers

Hello Stampers!

I love when you get two cards out of one design.  These were a little tricky to make, but I'm so proud of all my students. They were very patient and did a great job with these cards.  I think in the end, they felt it was worth the trouble.

Nativity Sunset

Welcome,

The countdown to Christmas is well on its way.  I'm still working to finish Christmas cards!  I almost feel like I need to get a giant countdown clock for my craft table.   It might help motivate me.  This is one of my favorites.
