The Elf Invasion Part 2

 Hello friends,

I hope you are sipping something warm, cuddled up in a blanket enjoying a little peace before the Christmas crazy starts.  I can't believe how fast this month goes.  This year a little faster than others. What they say about babies is true... they keep you busy.   This is the first time in a long, long time that I didn't get my Christmas cards finished.   I just had a little too much on my plate this year.  I hope you all know that I love you and are thinking of you during this festive time.  I'm excited to catch up with you in the New Year and hear about your adventures.  Hugs and Merry Christmas to you all!

Here is batch two of the elf photos-  I'm glad they are headed back to the North Pole tonight!

Is it a car ramp or a slide?

Time to make something sweet!  They baked cookies with Grandma!

They brought Ryan a hard 100 piece puzzle.  He sat down and worked on it until he finished it.  It took him about an hour.  He was determined to do it by himself.

Swinging on the baby Swing!

Oh no!  The Milk has gone bad! They tied up the elves.

There is an elf imposter!  Which one is the fake elf?

Opps!  Who peed in the snow? I think Olaf looks guilty.

They are taking the dogs for a walk.  My favorite is goofy is in the sleigh helping bark orders. Haha!

Fantabulistic Pig

 Hello,

I hope your Christmas preparations are going well.  It is hard to believe that the holiday will be here in just a few short days.   This year wasn't totally normal, but at least it was a lot better than 2020.

I always find coloring pigs to be a challenge.  It is hard to get the right shade of pink.  Sometimes they look too red.  I think I found a new favorite.  What do you think?  Did I get it right?

The Elf Invasion Part 1

 Hello all,

Last year we adopted an elf to help brighten up the house during quarantine.  It was such a huge joy for Ryan that he came back this year.  He even brought  a friend to keep him company.  Ryan delights in waking up every morning to go look for the elves.   Below are some photos of the shenanigans that have taken place in our house.

The cast of Toy Story came to play.  They saved our elf from the bubbling lava on the floor.   The fire trucks raced in to put out the hot embers.

Time to Decorate the Tree
The Elves brought their own Christmas cereal to share with Ryan

The elves had a fun game of "Cooties" in the playroom.

The naughty elves toilet papered our Christmas tree!

Mrs. Claus sent some star Christmas cookies with the elves for us to enjoy.  They accidently wrapped themselves to the plate.

Holidays are Merry

Welcome,

House Mouse are one of my favorite and I look forward to each release.  I inked this image up as soon as it arrived at my house.  Candy Canes make the perfect hair for a snowman.  Why didn't I think of that?

Merry Christmas friends,
Chris

Snail Mail

 Hi!

This little snail is from Stampin Up.  He stole my heart the first time I saw him. I couldn't wait to ink him up.  I had an envelope background stamp from Neat and Tangled that I thought would pair perfectly with it.  I love how well they work together!

Santa Shuttercard

 Hello friends,

I love interactive cards are my favorite to make.  I like the challenge of making them and it allows us to flex our creative muscles a bit.  I've made shutter cards before but I recently invented in a die that helped make this even easier to do.   I made one in pencil and one in copic.

Golden Reindeer

Hello,

Metallic cardstock is very trendy this year.  I couldn't' resist giving it a try.  The tricky part of using metallic paper is it is a magnet for fingerprints.  You have to handle it the way you used to handle old photographs.  It is worth the extra effort.  The photos don't really do this card justice, but the shine of the gold paper looks amazing.  I hope you will give this paper a try!

Grass is Greener

Hi!

I'm so glad you stopped by today.  I know this is a little bit out of season, but here in NY we are still mowing our lawns and raking leaves.  I needed a thank you card for a neighbor who helped us out with our lawn.  Connor has been traveling for work and it was starting to look a bit like a jungle.  Our little push mower was not up to the job.  Our neighbor came to the rescue with his riding mower came to save the day.

The stamp set is from Stampin Up.  You can find the copic colors I used below.

Wise Men

 Greetings,

This card is really simple to make, but it really pretty.  I can't remember who make this Nativity style stamp It has been in my stash for years.  It doesn't have any manufacturer information on the stamp.

I love the elegant sweeping lines they used to bring scenery and characters together.    I used an old cuttlebug folder to add some texture to the frame.  The pattern I chose was supposed to be a flower, but I think it also looked like the star of Bethlehem.  What do you think? Do you see flowers or stars?

Candy Corn Vegetables

Hello friends,

I'm loving layering stencils.  More and more companies are releasing them.  This card uses the candy corn stencils from Newton's nook.  I paired it with their candy corn sentiment set.   I put dots of gold gel pen between the candy corn pieces to break up the white space.   It makes for a quick and fun Autumn card.  Now if they could make candy corn taste better... we would be all set!

A-corny Card

Wow!  It's November!  Where does the time go?  We have been so blessed with a warm fall that I can't seem to get in the winter card mood.   Well...I'm squeezing out one more fall card in today...

I've had this giant acorn die in my stash for a few years.  I've been itching to use it.  It is so large it works perfectly as the focal point on the surprise slider door.  I had an extra hello die from the card I made the other day. I couldn't decide if I like the orange hello or the softer "Hello Autumn" sentiment strip.

Just an FYI...you can fit a gift card under the surprise door.

Sweet Hello

 Hello there!

I'm still giving my copics a rest.  This die was calling my name.  I sponged all of the pieces with ink to help add dimension.  I love the simple, sweet look.  I think I'll be using this die a lot!

You Wouldn't Be-LEAF it! It is EASY!

Hi, everyone!

Everything goes in circles right?  Bell bottoms were popular... then they weren't... then they came back for a hot minute and gone again.  I read that shag carpets are coming back into style. Really? Anyone want to take bets on what happens to all the airfryers people bought during the pandemic?  Anyway... today's card is a revival from my early stamping days.

Another crafter reminded me of this idea...  apply ink directly to an acrylic block, mist with water and then stamp on paper.  It is SUPER easy.  It creates this colorful watercolor-like background.  I stamped the leaves and sentiment on top.   I hope you give it a try!
