A Tree-Mendous Christmas Card

I really liked making this Christmas card.  It was fun and easy to put together.  The penguin family makes me smile.  The penguin on the bottom of the stack doesn't look extremely happy about his spot in the pile.

Embellishment: Gold Stickles

Heard You Caught a Bug...

I don't make a lot of "Get Well" cards, but lately I've needed a bunch of them.  Here is the first of many....

I love how it turned out.  The main imaged is a stamp by Whipper Snapper Designs.   I have had the stamp for a long time and it had been collecting dust.  I'm glad to see that inked up and on a card.

The inside of the card reads "Since when Have you been an Entomologist?"  I think it is funny, but as my husband pointed it out the humor is lost on some people.  I don't where I purchased the sentiment stamps.

Supply List
Paper: white, Going Gray, So Saffron, Pool Party (I will be so sad to see this color retire)
Stamp: Whipper Snapper Designs
Embossing folder: unknown
Colored with copics

A Twist on the Normal: Beach Babes

Welcome Stampers,

Today I'm playing catch-up.   I made this card a two weeks ago, but the minutes ticked by and it didn't get posted.

This is my first attempt at a Twisted Easel Card.  I can't get over how easy these are to make.  They are incredibly clever.  However, I'm not sure the recipient of the card would figure it out without some prompting.  What do you think?  I love to hear your thoughts.

Trouble Brewing

Most of you know that Connor and I adopted two puppies last fall.  They are now 10 months old and full of energy.  I was at my stamping table and I noticed the quiet.  I went to investigate and I found them being cute.  I can't be sure, but it looks like they are hatching a plan.

Coal Again

Good Evening Friends,

I hope that you are staying cool.  It has been crazy hot in NY this last week. I love summer weather, but I will admit I have spent my fair share of time camped out in front of the fan.  The puppies have adapted as well.  The fan used to be a scary monster, but they seemed to have befriended it.

It is hard to believe that in the hot of summer, I'm starting to think about Christmas cards.   Here is my first one for the year.

Supplies used:
CS: real red, Wasabi, Kraft, white (all SU)
Stamp: Stampendous Fluffles Coal Again, and Paisley and Petals (SU)
I sponged brown ink on the edges of the white square.

Masculine Beauty

As I make new cards, I place them on the mantle in our living room.   Connor (my dearest husband) has learned to check to see my daily progress.  When he saw this card, he looked at it.... thought and exclaimed "That doesn't look like something you would make.  It is too fancy!"  I replied "Thank You".   I love the he is honest with me.  He is right, this card is not my usual cute style.   I'm glad that I can still surprise him (and myself) every once in a while.

Materials:
Paper: Garden Green and Very Vanilla by SU
Ink: Garden Green and River Rock by SU
Stamps: Wildflower (unknown),  Text (Hero Arts)
Ribbon: Chocolate Chip by SU

Going Buggy Student Cards

Hello Stampers!

This post is long overdue.  I apologize.  You did a great job with June's "Going Buggy" Challenge.  I'm so proud of your projects.

Donna, You have a gift with color.  You always do an amazing job selecting patterns and colors that work well together.  This card is a great example of that!

created by Sandi

Sandi, your book turned out great.  It might be hard to tell from the photo, but she stitched on the image on the front of the card.  Very Nice!

created by Marsha

Marsha, I love your passion for card making.   I love the way you cut the flowers out on this card. Keep up the great work!

Louise also made beautiful card next time we will have to get a picture before she sends it.

July's challenge is to use glitter.  Make a card and add some sparkle!  I can't wait to see your creations.

Happy Creating,
Chris

Land That I Love

I love summer!   My family purchased a little piece of heaven on a nearby lake when I was very little.  I have spent every summer on the lake ever since.   It has been time I have treasured.  It has even inspired the name for my blog.

A long time tradition on the lake is approaching fast.  Every Forth of July,  the little town of Hammondsport puts on a firework display.  The actual fireworks are not extraordinary, but there is something memorizing about watching each firework reflect off the water.  The whole lake lights up.   It is an event that is close to my heart.

I wanted to make a card to celebrate the Land (and Lake) that I love.  The theme for this month's challenge is BLING!!  That is right ladies! Get the sparkles and rhinestones out, it is time to Get OUR BLING ON!!

I used the Tilda Liberty Stamp.  The firework stamp is also by Magnolia.  The verse is by a small company called Heather.

The oval and scalloped matte (used glitter paper) was cut using Spellbinders. I used Copic Spica to trace over the lines on the firework stamp to add some sparkle to the background.  I also put some Liquid Pearls on the oval around Tilda.
