Chubby Snowman

 Welcome,

This snowman must have been in quarantine for a long time.  He definitely gained the covid--19lbs.   Personally I love chubby snowman.  It just makes him more adorable.

I used my colored pencils to color this card.  I love the way the white colored pencil pops off the darker cardstock.   I think you could use any brand of pencils to do this.  However, for about $2.50 (less if you use a coupon) at Michaels/Joannes you can buy a prismacolor white pencil.   In my opinion, it gives the best creamy white results.  It is a nice thing to have in your stash.

Merry Chick-mas

 Greetings friends,

It seems no matter how hard I try to pretend that winter is not coming, the air keeps getting colder.  I think I saw a few flakes floating around the other day.  I was hoping they would cancel winter.  They have cancelled everything else in 2020.  Oh well, I guess if it is going to happen I'm going to make it make some awesome Christmas cards.

This card has been on my list since last Christmas.  A small company called Purple Onion stamps released a bunch of farm animal christmas stamps.  I don't live on a farm (not even close), but these guys are really cute.    I used kraft card stock because color pencils seem to glow.  I used gamsol to blend the colors a bit.

I wish I had a stamp that said... Merry Chick-Mas!  Oh well.. I'll keep my eyes out for one.  I hope you enjoy this card.

Over the Moon

Hello, Hello!

It is rare, but sometimes I do put my copics away to play with my colored pencils.  I love my prismacolor pencils.  I should get them out more.   One of my favorite things to do is use them on kraft cardstock.  I feel the like the pencils almost glow.    What are your favorite coloring mediums?

Good Job Mama

Hello... well I couldn't resist.  I inked her up again.  I colored her up with pencils.  This time I paired it up with some sentiments from SSS.

You can find this stamp here .

Monster Birthday

Hey friends,

I have something a little different today.   I needed some birthday cards for kids.  I thought this monster would be perfect and look good in a variety of different colors.  I love the yellow toenails on the pink monster.  I'm a little jealous, I can't pull off yellow. 😃

Grumpy Bunny?

Happy Easter,

I really like this stamp from Unity.... well I thought I did.  I colored it up and made this card.  I showed it to my hubby and he said the bunny looked mad.  Now that is all I see when I look at him.  Is he a grumpy bunny?  What do you think?  Is there something I could do to help soften the expression a little.

No copics today-- I used colored pencils to color the bunny.  I know, I'm surprised too!

Candy Corn petition

Hello friends,

I have an unusual card (well for me) to share today.  I used colored pencils (weird, huh?) to color up these candy corn.  I colored them on black card stock.  It has a cool effect.  It almost if they have a glow.   It is perfect for Halloween.

Before we get to the card.... can we talk about Candy Corn?   How is it that we can make pizza flavored potato chips and toothpaste that tastes like cupcakes (Yep...real thing google it), but yet candy corn tastes awful.  It is such a colorful and cute candy.   I can't think of a more iconic fall treat.   Shouldn't it taste as amazing as it looks?  Can we start a petition or something?

Well... now that I'm off my soap box I'll share this card with you.  I'd love to hear what you think

White Flower

Hello all,

I'm a little behind in blogging.  This week has been crazy busy.   Last weekend, we made our annual trip to Akron for the Adventures in Stamping convention.  I had a great time teaching copics to a wonderful group of ladies.    Stampers really are the best people!

I spent this week trying to chip away at my "to do" list.   I managed to get one huge project crossed off.  All of my house mouse stamps are officially unmounted.    I have been debating about doing this for a long time.   But I got so sick of searching through wood blocks to find a stamp.  I also hate that I couldn't use them in my MISTI.   It took my 3 weeks, but it is done!   WHOO HOO!!

Somehow in the middle of all of that.. I made 2 scrapbook pages of Ryan.   I'm so excited to see my list dwindle a bit.  I have no doubt that it will be full again soon, but I'm determined to enjoy this while it lasts!

I'm going to try to catch up on the blog this week and next.   Here is the first card in line...

We made this in last month's Card Lover's class.  I love the simplicity of this technique.  I think it the most popular card last month.   I had a lot of requests to do this again soon.

Snail Celebration

Hey folks!

Just a quick post today.  I was playing with the pencils a bit more.   I love how I was able to blend the red, orange and yellow on the shells.   I think the body of the snails needs a bit more work.  It was a lot of fun.

Doggy on Kraft

Welcome Stampers,

If you follow my blog...you know I'm addicted to copics (Don't worry...I still am). However,   I do like to try new things.  I recently picked up some pencils are started playing around with them.  I found that I really like the way they look on kraft paper.    What do you think?

I colored three dogs.  I find that when you are learning to do something it helps to color it more than once.  This way you can try different things and get a feel for how the pencils work.  The black dog is my favorite, but I'd love to hear what you think.
