Hey Sweet Pea!

Hello friends,

There is a new card challenge on the House Mouse blog this week.  I used Pea Pod Nap to create this sweet card.   I had a hard time deciding what greens to use to color the pea pod. In the end I picked colors that match the decorative paper.   It pairs perfectly with this sentiment from Hero Arts (retired).    If you like snarky cards, I made an alternate version and posted it below.

Snarky Version of this card below!

Field of Flowers

Hello friends,

I used this bold alphabet by Altenew (click here) to create this Hello card.  I used foam to pop up the letters.  I really helps the letters pop off the background.    I used small flower stamps from my stash to stamp a field of flowers across the bottom of the letters.

Hummingbirds

Welcome,

Today's card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire.  I love the ideas of putting the hummingbirds around the sentiment and inlaying them.  I made one in white and then one in a blue green.

Fabulous, Fierce and Amazing

Hello friends,

I was playing with a new toy this week.  I discovered  Scribble Sticks (click here) through a friend Lisa Christenson.  She is an amazing watercolorist.  You can check out her blog here.   She made a few cards with them and I wanted to give them a shot.  They are so fun and easy to use.  My favorite part is the vibrant colors they produce.

Pop of Color

Hello friends,

Who doesn't love rainbows?  I thought it would be fun to stamp the leaves from Altenew's Leaf Canopy (Click HERE) set to create a rainbow.   I think it adds a bit of happy to the card.

Fish in a Box

Welcome,

I'm so excited to share this card with you.  I saw some similar ideas floating around the internet.  I wanted to give it a surprise pop-up box.  This was so much fun to make.  This little duck is perfect for this type of card.

Happy Day

Hello friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  I was lucky enough to spend the weekend with my  Mom.  My little guy made me a bouquet of flowers out of paper.   He still is too young to really understand what is going on, but it was really sweet.   I'd love to hear what special thing you did to mark the day.

I have a really quick card to share today.  Concord and 9th (Click here) makes amazing stamps that create a unique background.  I love how they turn out.  I used the stamp and coordinating dies to create this fun celebration card.

Extraordinary Manatee

Welcome friends,

This chubby manatee wanted to swim by and say hello.  I love the look on his fishy friend's face.  It makes you wonder what they were chatting about.  This is a simple and fun card.   The distress ink background really makes give it a watery feel.

Cross

Hello all,

Yikes!  It has been a while since I've posted.  I've been playing catch up this last week.  I went to the stamp convention the last weekend of April.  It was nice to visit with my husband's family and see my crafty friends.

I used wax paper to create a resist background on cardstock.  I sponged over the paper with Distress ink.  The cross is by SSS.   I love the wonderfully elegant look.   I'm going to have to revisit this technique again soon.
