You Taste Good with Video

Happy Halloween!!

I'm looking forward to taking the little one out trick-or-treating tonight.   I'm sure there will be plenty of photos and I'll be sure to post a few.

I do have a dragon card to share with you.  I love the sentiment it is from Blue Knight Rubber stamps (the castle is from there too) .  I colored these up a while ago, but it never made it on the blog.  I think the blue dragon is my favorite, but I wanted to make a purple version too (photos below).

If you like to see how I colored this card, please click here.

Witchy Owl

Boo!    Did I scare you?  Probably not... we are way too cute to spook.

This card was a special request from my sister's co-worker.    I love special requests.  They push me to try something that I wouldn't have done on my own.   I really like this card.    What do you think?

Candy Corn petition

Hello friends,

I have an unusual card (well for me) to share today.  I used colored pencils (weird, huh?) to color up these candy corn.  I colored them on black card stock.  It has a cool effect.  It almost if they have a glow.   It is perfect for Halloween.

Before we get to the card.... can we talk about Candy Corn?   How is it that we can make pizza flavored potato chips and toothpaste that tastes like cupcakes (Yep...real thing google it), but yet candy corn tastes awful.  It is such a colorful and cute candy.   I can't think of a more iconic fall treat.   Shouldn't it taste as amazing as it looks?  Can we start a petition or something?

Well... now that I'm off my soap box I'll share this card with you.  I'd love to hear what you think

Watermelon Tilda

Welcome,

It has been a while since I've colored up Tilda stamps.  When I saw there new release, I had a quick favorite.    I didn't want to pair this with the traditional "One in a Melon" stamp.  I wanted something different.   What do you think?

Itsy Bitsy Purple Spider

Hello!

I'm not a huge fan of real life spiders, but this guy is adorable.  I usually color spiders black.. but it didn't seem appropriate for this stamp.  I debated some color ideas, but ended up with purple.   I'm so glad I did. He looks a little less spooky in purple.

Copics used:

Purple: BV08, BV04, BV02, BV00
Orange: YR18, YR16, YR12, E13
Black: N9, N7, N5, N3
Green: YG17, YG13, YG11

I just picked single colors for the candy in the bucket.  If this is too intimidating, I recommend using colored pencils/gel pens for the candy.

Thinking of You- Leaves

Hello all,

Another rainy day in NY.   It is better than snow.  I'll take it.

I'm really loving the leaf background by Concord and 9th.  I couldn't resist inking it up again.  I liked stamping on colored card stock. I usually stamp on white.      I made a video using this stamp on a fall card.  I hope you will check it out.  Click here to see video.

Hey Pumpkin Pie

Hello all,

I'm a bit behind on blogging.  Life has just been crazy with weddings, and family visits.   Summer has finally faded and lake season is over.    It is time to shift focus to all things fall.  Bring on the pumpkin spice!

I've had this stamp for ages, but never had inked it up.   I was nervous about coloring pumpkin pie. I wasn't sure what to use to capture the rich orange brown color.   Then recently I was shopping for cardstock and found paper called Pumpkin Bread by (FSJ).    It was perfect.  I used the paper help me choose marker colors.  I love the final look.  This process is backwards of what I usually do.  I might need to work backwards more often.

I hope you enjoy...

Winter Wonderland

Greetings!

I love making shaker cards.  It adds a fun element to a card.   Winter is coming and they are a perfect fit with snow.    I hope it looks like a snowy bank behind the deer.

Dancing Lady

Hello Party People!

Who doesn't love to dance?  This stamp has been in my collection a long time.   It is from AI.   A friend of mine, Cathy suggested that I do some paper piecing cards.   I had a dream (yep...) about this card.  I got up and just had to make it.   It was so much fun.... I ended making 7 of them.   What a fun way to use up some patterned paper.

America is Proud

Hello friends,

I'm asked often for cards to send to someone serving our country.  I thought it would be fun to make a red-white-blue card using this layering die.  I love the way it turned out.    The sentiment if from the Blue Knight Rubber stamps collection.  They have a wonderful selection of military stamps.
