Rain, Rain Go Away

Happy Wednesday!

I guess April didn't want us to escape without a little more rain.  It rained all day yesterday...and it is expected to rain until Saturday.  Yuck!  The good news is tomorrow I'm gong to spend my rainy day at a Copic training class!  I'll be sure to take lots of notes and bring home some great tips!

Keeping with the rain theme...

The Goofy Things

Happy Monday,

What a whirlwind of a weekend!  Connor and I packed a ton into a short few days.  I had a wonderful time at the Akron Stamping Convention.  I met a handful of very talented copic artists.  They are well on there way to making some stunning works of art.  I can't wait to see where their creativity takes them.    Saturday, I was lucky enough to have some time to wander through the exhibit hall and shop.   What an experience!   One of my favorite things about going visiting the smaller stamp companies.  They always have unique stamps and ideas.  I can't wait to ink them up put my new purchases to work!

In the meantime, I have this cute couple is getting in trouble again.  What will they do next?

Life is Good

Hello friends,

Today's card is so fitting for how I feel.  "Life is Good!"  I wish I had a stamp that said "Life is Good, but Crazy".  This week has been full of last minute projects getting ready for Akron Convention this weekend.  I'm really excited to teach and meet another group of talented women.  I hope to bring back some good stories for you.

Next week, I'll get back to sharing some copic cards, but today's card is nice and simple.   This card uses the new style of ink that bleeds a little as it soaks into the paper.  That sounds like it would be horrible, but when using a solid stamp it helps give a little extra coverage.  I was really impressed with the result.  It was perfect for creating this silhouette card.

Have a wonderful day!
Chris

Easter Chicks

To all my Easter Chicks,

Just a quick project today.  I found this really cute idea and I wanted to give it a try.  I thought they would make nice little bags to put Easter treats in.   It was Connor's idea to put googly-eyes on the chick.  It really added a lot to the project.

Happy Easter Weekend!

Clowning Around

Hello!

I have some exciting news!  Yesterday, I signed up for the next Copic's next training class. I love getting together with other talented instructors.  The day is filled with coloring, sharing ideas, and I always leave with my head buzzing with ideas.   I can't wait!  I promise, I'll be bringing all the information home to you!  I'm sure I won't be able to stop myself from sharing it.

I'm getting the cards a little out of order, but this card is full of copic techniques.  I thought this is a perfect day to share it!   Notice the balloons are translucent.  One of my favorite techniques!

Calla Lily Challenge

Happy Friday Friends,

April is going by so fast.  I can't believe that Easter will be here in just over a week.   I have a beautiful Calla Lily card to share with you.  I chose to color my lilies in purple.  I know that isn't common, but it is the color of Easter.   You can easily make them white or pink.

I wanted each flower to look different. It would be weird if they all looked the same. I used the same markers to color each flower, but I varied the amount on each.  Meaning one may have more dark areas and others are light.  Some have yellow at the bottom some don't.  I left areas white, but changed the amount for each flower.   It was a fun challenge.

Copics used:

Purple: BV000, BV00, BV01, BV04
Yellow: Y11, Y15
Green: YG61, YG63, YG67, G85
Blue: B000, B00, 0

The First Person

Hello copic fans,

We all have that first phone call.  The person you call when life is seems dreary.  The person you call when life is gives you great news.  The person you call when you are bored.  The person on the other end of the line always seems to know the perfect thing to say.   This card is a reminder to be thankful for the "first person" in your life.

Hope you day is filled with Sunshine,
Chris

Copics used:

Hair: 100- I wanted to darken her hair to a true black
Pink: RV10, RV11, RV13, Rv14
Flowers: Y13, YR12, YR23 YG63, YG67- glitter gel pens to add some sparkle
Skin: E000, E00, E11,
Grey: N3, N5, N7
Coffee: E31, E33
Ground: W3, W1

This card is a little challenging.  I had trouble with over saturating with pinks.  It was also tough to blend around the flowers.  There are some mistakes in this card... but as a whole I think it turned out well.  Take your time.

Elegant Vines

Hello Stampers,

I had a question from one of my students about chalk.  Chalk isn't something I think to use very often and I thought this is a great excuse to get it out and play.   I love the elegant look of this card.

No copics...just chalk!!
