Pumpkin Makeovers

Hello,

Sorry for the delay in posting.   I was busy celebrating a birthday!  Yep, I made another trip around the sun.  I'm looking forward to many more trips.  I celebrated with my husband, mom, grandma and in-laws.  We took a day cruise on the Erie Canal.  The weather was perfect.  The trees just started to turn.   It was a beautiful day.

Me and My Grandma

Many years ago I made the card pictured below.  It has always been a favorite of mine.  However, as you can see it needs some sprucing up.

To spruce up this card, I wanted to color this card with copics.  I thought this card would be perfect to try something new too.   I made my first video.  I have a lot to learn, but for this clip isn't too bad to a film debut.

Copics used:

Orange: YR12, YR16, YR18, BV00
Brown: E71, E74, E77
Green: G43, G46

I hope you enjoyed my film debut.  I hope to do more in the future. Please feel free to leave me a comment, advice or suggestions.

Happy Crafting,
Chris

Colorful Thanks

Hello Stampers!

Warning... playing with Neon inks is addictive.   I saw these featured on a friend's blog.  It wasn't long before I was ordering my set.  Hero Arts makes six shades of Neon ink ( purple, blue, green, orange, yellow and pink).  They are so bright and fun!   Below is the card I made with them.

Materials used:

Hero Arts Neon Ink
Neat and Tangled Ink Splash
Papertrey Sentiment
Cuddlebug die cut Thanks

Gouda Birthday

This stamp is an old one.  This is an original House Mouse image, back when they were part of Stampa Rosa.  When Stampa Rosa closed their doors, many of the House Mouse Stamps were discontinued.  I'm so glad that the artist didn't give up.  She was able to start her own company and release new images.  I'm so glad we didn't loose House Mouse Stamps.

Inside caption reads: "Have a Gouda Birthday"

Copics used:
Mouse: E000, E00, E11, E13, E31, E33, R00
Red: R24, R27, R29
Grey: C1, C3
Cheese: YR20, YR21, YR23, YR31,
Candle: BG11, BG13

I drew the flame in with Y13, YR12

Take you time while coloring around the letters.  It is very easy to oversaturate the paper.  You don't want your ink to bleed into the letters.   If you think the paper is getting too wet, let it dry for 10-15 min and then go back and finish coloring.   Good Luck Crafters!

Kindness Touches It

Good Evening Friends,

Connor and I just got home from Rochester.  We packed this weekend full.  Friday night was awesome, we met with Brockport ladies for another Creative Card Class.   They made beautiful Cards.  Then Saturday, Shorewinds hosted a mini-Apple Fest for its residents.  My Dad and I went to sell his handcrafted items and my cards.  It was a lot of fun to see where my sister works and to meet her patients.   Afterwards, my family surprised me with a cookie cake and dinner.   I really was surprised, because my birthday is still a week away.   It was really nice.

It was perfect inspiration for this card.  The sentiment says it all..

Not Going to Tell

Hello Stamping Friends!

I'm so excited!!! "Just Cards" Magazine published one of my cards.   I have thought about submitting cards before, but never followed through with it.   Six month ago (they work ahead due to publishing deadlines), I submitted this card.  I'm so honored they included it in their Fall Issue!

Harvest Blessings

Hello all,

Fall has arrived.  I'm really excited about pumpkins and fall colors.  Oh... I love fall colors. They are so rich and warm.

I purchased this stamp last fall. It has been collecting dust, patiently waiting for Fall to arrive.   It is made by Justrite Stamps.    The sentiment is from Verve Stamps.  The two companies paired together well.   I love the clean and simple look.

Let Your Dreams Take Flight

Hello Friends,

Just a quick post today.  I love this card.  It is perfect for a graduation card. I stamped the airplanes on blue scrap paper and then cut them out.  I used dimensional glue to raise them up for the card base.   I used glitter pen to trace the "jet stream" to add a little sparkle.

Enjoy your Monday!

Autumn Flowers

Hello!

Today's card if from this month's Card Lover's Class.  It is one of my favorites.  I love the fall colors!  Each month I try to make a card (or two) that doesn't involve a coloring.  Some call me an addict.  Oh well.. when the lock me away... just make sure I have my copics with me (Smiles!).

To create the background I used one of my favorite Stampin Up stamps called Crosshatch.  I stamped the leaves on white card stock and then cut them out.  Each one is raised up with a pop dot.

Create Your Own Sunshine

Hello,

Connor and I are on our way to Maryland this weekend.  Our good friends, Bre and Dan are getting married this weekend.  I'm looking forward to seeing all our friends.  It has been a year since Connor and I have visited.  I hope to soak in every second.

Today's card features a new stamp from Stamping Bella.  It is part of their Uptown Girls series.  The sentiment is also from Stamping Bella.  She was a lot of fun to color.  Take your time as you go, there are a lot of small areas.  Copics like to wander a bit.  I had one issue on the bag.  I did my best to clean up my mess with the blender pen.... then added a bit of gel pen to hide the worst of it.   You will do great!  Happy Coloring!!

 Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, E13
Blue: B12, B14

Green: YG61, YG63, YG67

Labor Day Love

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Labor day weekend.  The weatherman threatened thunderstorms all weekend long.  Amazingly we only had one bout of rain.  The rest of of the weekend was beautiful.   Keuka Lake ends each season with a Ring of Fire ceremony.  All the cottages light flares at the lake's shore creating a fiery border.  We do it to honor the Native Americans.  It is a tradition they started long ago to celebrate the birth of their people and the harvest.   If you have never seen it, it is a peaceful time on the lake.  It is a special moment. Every year, I find myself reflecting on the events of the summer.  I always wish we could steal a few more moments before fall arrives.  I'm so thankful for every second.

Here are a few photos from our weekend.  I hope your holiday was filled with love and joy!
