Rum is Gone

Hello,

The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are popular in our house. Quotes from the movies are common place around here. A popular one is "Why is the rum gone?" This will be a great card to send to my family. They will get a kick out this!

To create the background I used alcohol inks to create a striped background on glossy cardstock. I stamped the gothic skull background on top after it dried. It is a Halloween background, but I think it fit the pirate theme perfectly.

Hello friends! 

Do you ever had an idea bouncing around in your head and can't wait to get it out on paper?   I used the mini ink spots to ink up the Concrete Texture background stamp.  It works out perfectly to fit five colors evenly across the image.  I love the subtle rainbow that it creates.   It is just full of texture!!  I finished the card off with a love die.   I used both the negative and the positive to add a sentiment.  Do you like the Hello or the Love version better?

I have a simple technique to share today.  I stamped the rhino and sentiment on a watercolor wash.   I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the rhino.  It is so simple but it really adds a lot.  What do you think?

This is just a real quick post today.  I couldn't resist sharing.  I just love this card.  Stampin up released this Poppy Paper a few years back.  I happen to find a partially used pack of it at a garage sale this Spring.  I just finished the card off by adding a sentiment.  The paper did all the hard work.    Thank you all for stopping by!

Elephant Magic

 Hello all, 

I real quick card to share with you that we made at the senior center.   This is a really intricate die that cuts out negative space to make an elephant design.  I used foil cardstock (really hard to photograph) to back the cardstock.  I love how the pink shines through.

Pirate or Mermaid

Hello all, 

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July week.  My family and I spent the week at the lake.  It was a joy to watch the boys rediscover the water.  They were a little nervous at the week and little fishes (or mermen) by the end.  

Technique Junkies is on a roll with the mermaid stamps.  I used markers to color directly on the stamp so that I could get a multi-colored look.  I fussy cut out the image and placed it on a tone on tone stamped Fading Scales panel.   I really wanted the focus to be on the sentiment, so I brought in strip of paper stamped with Distressed Paint.  I think that really ties it all in together.   What do you think?

Adventure Awaits

 Happy July!  It is release day at Technique Junkies.  Many of these stamps are travel themed.   For my first card I was inspired by a postage stamp.  I used a large die to make a postage stamp shaped card.  I used the Adventure Awaits stamp set to decorate it.  It would be great a card for a coworker going on vacation or even retirement.  

The second card is my favorite!  I love the idea of using these as a graduation card.  I colored the plane with my copic markers and used the sentiments to great an Adventure themed card.
