Pirate or Mermaid
Hello all,
I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July week. My family and I spent the week at the lake. It was a joy to watch the boys rediscover the water. They were a little nervous at the week and little fishes (or mermen) by the end.
Technique Junkies is on a roll with the mermaid stamps. I used markers to color directly on the stamp so that I could get a multi-colored look. I fussy cut out the image and placed it on a tone on tone stamped Fading Scales panel. I really wanted the focus to be on the sentiment, so I brought in strip of paper stamped with Distressed Paint. I think that really ties it all in together. What do you think?

Sand, Salt and Memories
Hello friends,
I can't believe that we are approaching the end of June. If you follow me at all, you know that I LOVE mermaids. I was so excited to get this distressed mermaid scale background. It pairs so well with all the mermaid stamps that are already in stash.
I used shimmering bliss from Technique Junkies to create a background full of sparkle. If you haven't used these sprays... they are AMAZING. They add sparkle and vivid color to a project. When my background was dry a stamped the mermaid scales on top. Die cut a circle and added the porthole (so sorry, I have no idea who makes this die). I stamped the sentiments and mermaid to the inside of the card.

Mermaid to be Friends
Krista Smith's challenge theme today is "Together". I know cards are not magic. HOwever, kindness does work magic. I'm doing my best to spread a little extra kindness these days. Hopefully it will bring us all together.
This image was my first choice. When I sat down to color, I wanted to to do something different with colors. I was drawing a blank. As I was coming up with a plan a tricolor kayak passed by (I was having a crafting day at the lake). I decided to use the colors for card. There is a photo of the kayak at the end of this post. Let me know how I did. In the end, I really like it. Next time, I think I will choose a lighter shade of blue for the water. I think the final product came out a little dark.

Thoughtful Fish
Today is day 2 of the coloring challenge. The theme is "Thinking of You". There was something about the look on this mermaids face that made me think she was thinking of someone special.
I pushed myself with the colors a bit. I usually choose bright colors for mermaids. This time I picked a more muted color scheme. I thought the fish looked a little bit like koi. This was my first time trying to make this marbled look. I love how it turned out and I think I might try to do this to a mermaid tail soon.

Mermaid Magic
Okay, Okay... I couldn't do it. If you know me, you know I had to ink up a mermaid. She is not only one you will see this week. It is a weakness.
This image is special to me. Krista Smith drew this based on an idea I sent her. I caught myself wondering one day if a mermaid and a fairy had a conversation, what would they talk about? I still don't know the answer... but I bet it happy things. Now that I think about it... do you think mermaids and unicorns have zoom (internet) meetings?

My Monthly Hero June 2018: Beach
I'm barley squeaking this video in this month, but I couldn't let it slip by without inking it up. I'm a beachy, water-loving person so this kit was perfect. The cherry-on-top is they included a mermaid!!!
Okay enough rambling... here is the video. Remember you need to be on the blog or youtube to watch
