Nature's Gold (Easy Watercolor)

 Greetings,

Fall has officially arrived in upstate NY.  The leaves here are colorful and dancing in the wind.  I'm sad to see summer fade, but the beauty that fall brings is spectacular.  I wanted to celebrate that color in today's  card.

I used dye ink pads to watercolor this pumpkins.  Any dye ink pads can be used they do not need to be this brand of ink.

Materials:

You can watch how I made this card here.  If you reading this in your email they video will not play.  You need to go to youtube or the blog to watch.

This is the card I made with the more red mixed into the orange.

This card features the more orange pumpkins.

Hi Pumpkin!

Welcome back!

I've been alternating between Fall and Halloween cards. I've been having a blast making both. Today's card features an old Penny Black stamp. Sadly, I think it is retired. You might have some luck on ebay.

I sponged some black ink onto my orange cardstock. I'm not sure I would do this again if I were to remake this card. Originally, I thought the orange was too bright and wanted to make it feel a little spooky. It did make the cat the focus of the card.  In the end it looks okay. I'm still debating if I liked the bright orange or the dusty orange. What do you think?

Hello pumpkin

 Greetings,

I'm back to day with my favorite pumpkin stamp.  It is a layering stamp from Strawberry Jude.   I seem to drag this stamp set out every Fall.   If you want to see the cards I've made in past years, you can click on the links below.

Pumpkin Patch

Check out how awesome this pumpkin looks!  I kept the card really simple, so the focus will be on the pumpkin.   I'd love to hear what pumpkin card is your favorite of the three times I've used this stamp.

Batty for You

 Hello,

I almost skipped out on making Halloween cards this year.  Thankfully my students knocked some sense into me.  I don't know what I was thinking, I love Halloween.   I had a totally different plan in mind when I was planning out this card...and none of it came to fruition.  This mischievous elephant had different ideas.  What can I say...he was right.  his way is better.  😆

Birthday Showers

Hi!

This is a fairly new stamp by Purple Onion Stamps.   I wanted to create a rainbow shower.  It would be really time consuming to do this with copics.  It is a perfect excuse to break out the watercolors.  A friend of mine (Lisa) told me the trick to getting them to create a perfect blend between colors is to not skimp on the water.  She was right.  They blended together wonderfully.   Thanks so much for the tip!

As you can see, I created two different samples.  I watercolored the monkey on the bottom one.  I wasn't sure I liked the "messy" look.  On my other sample (top picture) I  used a dye based marker to color the monkey.  I think I like that one better.  What do you think?
