Sea Turtles

Hi!  Thanks for stopping by today.   The swap theme for this month (May)is Mermaids and Ocean.  I was inspired by our trip in February.  We visited an sea turtle hospital in Florida keys.  We learned that all species of sea turtles are endangered.   I can't imagine a world without them.   I hope that by celebrating them and getting the word out we can reduce plastics and pollutants in the water.  There is space for everyone on this planet.  

To create this card I stamped the turtle in green on Ivory cardstock and then again in brown on Kraft cardstock.  I cut the brown shell out and popped it up on the cut out green turtle.  I created a fun aquatic scene by stamping bubbles and fish.

Fly through a Hurricane

Hello!

I love this new Betty White Sentiment set at Technique Junkies .  Betty White was such an inspiration and her loss was felt by many.  I'm so glad we can continue to celebrate her through our card making.  

This is my favorite sentiment in the set.  I paired it with a Butterfly swell die from Memory Box.   I sponged the background with Seedless Preserves.   I wanted the bottom to be darker and lighten as it moved closer to the top of the card.  I also cut black paper to make bodies for the butterflies.  They felt naked without them.

You Had Me at Dog

 Hello friends, 

These are some faux watercolor cards.  I bought some decorative paper that looked like it has a watercolor wash across them.   I wasn't totally lazy.  I did add splatter dots to all the panels to add more texture and interest.   I then stamped each panel with the dog stamp.  They really came to life when I used a white gel pen to add details to the nose and eyes of each pup.   To finish off each card I added sentiments and paw prints.  I love the simple and fun result.   Do you have a favorite color? or sentiment?

Just Ducky

Check out these two ducks.  Aren't they sweet?   They are from a Stampin Up Sell-a-Bration set called Stylish sketches.  They are just so sweet.  I made several cards in this layout.  I watercolored some and used copics for others.  I think they both turned out great.   Do you prefer watercolor or copic version?

I love Snoopy.  He just cracks me up.  He is always up to something.  Today he is driving by to wish you a happy birthday.   I stamped balloons behind the car and drew in the balloon strings with a black pen.   I hope you enjoy this silly card!

Happy May Day! 

It is release day at Technique Junkies.  This is another beautiful collection of stamps.  I can't wait to show you what I made with them.  

This sentiment stamp is so perfect for encouragement cards.  I'm always on the lookout for good sentiments.  I used the daisy stamp to create a frame around the sentiment.  Daisies are such a happy flower. 

To create the backgrounds I used shimmering bliss sprays.  They are a mix of pigment and sparkle.   They ARE so so pretty.   I wish the camera could capture the sparkle.
