Life Begins After Coffee

 Hello,

It is release day at Technique Junkies.   This new coffee stamp quickly grabbed my attention.  We all know I love a good coffee stamp.  I used the Coffee Cup Dies to create a shaped card.   I like to keep these on hand.   I put a couple of dollars on a gift card from a local coffee shop.    Then I can give them out as Thank you cards (perfect for teachers) or thinking of you cards.

If you have a second, check out all the other cards from the talented design team.

Hello!

I love making interactive cards.   I'm always looking for new designs and variations.  I wanted to see if we could make stamp on the "arm" of the card.  It worked out really well.  The measurements are worked out perfectly so you don't end up with a bunch of scraps!   Watch here to get all the details and design tips

Marshmallows and Cocoa

 Hello,

I'm so excited! If you follow me, you know I love Tilda.  It has been chilly here in NY and the perfect time for Hot Chocolate!   I had some left over patterned paper from this project I did earlier this month.  I decided to use some of it to create these cards.    As I was coloring her up, I couldn't decide if she was wearing shoes or socks.  I've always colored her feet at shoes... but for some reason these seem like socks to me.   I realize that they could be either.. but I'm curious.  What do you think?  Shoes or Sock?

Regular or Decaf?

 Welcome,

This is one of the cards that I will be teaching at Akron 2022.  My favorite part of this card is the spilled coffee background.  I used four colors of distress oxide ink to create the coffee look.  I made a similar card a few years ago.  You can click here to see how I did it.

All the materials are linked below:

If I were to make this card again, I would put the punchline- :Honey it's Monday...Don't even play.. on the inside of the card.  I think it would add to the joke.

You can see how I made this card here.

A Day without coffee... (with video)

Welcome,

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I live with a coffee addict.  I'm smart enough to know not to get between him and his coffee.    As a crafter, coffee cards are some of the most requested themes for cards that I get.    I got a couple of new coffee sentiments and I couldn't wait to ink them up.   I hope you get a giggle out of the sentiments.   I made a video of my coloring process.  Click here if you'd like to watch.

I made a video showing how I colored this image.  You need to watch on the blog or youtube

Warm Thoughts Coffee Cup

 Greetings,

Over the last year or so I've slowly reorganizing my stamp room.  I was sorting some stamp sets this week and stumbled across this stamp set from Mama Elephant.  I forgot I had it.   The "Warm" stem stamp is just so stunning. I couldn't wait to ink it up.   I usually make these cards during the colder months, but we drink coffee in the summer, right?

The coffee cup is stamped onto polkadot paper.  I cut it out and used dimensional dots to raise it off the card front.  I added a few red hearts for a pop of color.  It is a super simple design.  I hope you like it too!

Coffee Cat

Greetings,

If you follow along, you know I'm not a coffee drinker.  However, coffee stamps are some of my favorite.   This cat looks proud of himself in his coffee cup.    The inside of this card says "because adulting is hard".

Perfect Blend

Happy New Year!

I've taken the last two weeks off of card making.  We went on a whirlwind trip to see my father, my in-laws, grandmother, and cousins then back again.  It was an wonderful trip, but the car was packed and I couldn't fit a single crafting item in the car.    Today I sat down to craft and I felt like a fish out of water.  I didn't know where to start.  I spent my time today cleaning off my table instead.  Have you ever felt this way?

I hope the ideas come flooding back soon.  In the meantime, I thought I'd catch up on some blog posts.  We made this card in December class.  I love this embossing folder by Tim Holtz.  I paired it with an old stampin up coffee cup stamp set.  I thought the cup matches perfectly with the folder.

I used a bit of W3, W1 to add some shadow to the whip cream.

The coffee was created with distress ink.

Warm Beverage Wishes

Warm Greetings,

Simple cards are sometimes the hardest to make.  I loved this sentiment and wanted it to be the focal point of the card.   Because they images are so small, I thought using a tag on a card would help draw our attention to the beautiful script.  What do you think, does it work?

Warm Friendships

Howdy,

We got our first taste of fall this year.  This past weekend, the temperatures dropped to 40 degrees.  It was quite a shock after the 90 degree days we had all week.   Do we really have to do the winter thing again?

...at least the stamps are cute.

Perfect Blend

Happy April!

I love this time of year.  Things are starting to turn green.  The days are longer and warmer.   There is also a gap in holidays.  It gives me the freedom to play around with different card types.    Today I'm sharing a coffee card.    This card is a little larger than a standard card but it still fits in a 5x7 envelope.
