Party Like No Tomorrow

Hello friends,

I'm sorry, I've been a little distracted.  We had a few HOT days.  I thought it would be a good time to be outdoors.  Ryan and I went to the lake and splashed around a bit.   The water is still really cold, but that didn't stop a little boy for making the most of it.    In true NY fashion the temperature has dropped again and this week.  I'm hoping to play a little catch up in my craft room this week.

This guy is one of my favorites.  I love when the image is strong enough to carry a card.  He doesn't need any bells and whistles  He just is so darn cute all on his own.

Sitting Here

Greetings,

Welcome back to our normally scheduled blog posts.  Thanks for hanging in there with me last week.  I don't participate in many coloring challenges, but I thought it would be a positive distraction from all that is going on in the world.

Today's cards comes from a Stampin Up stamp set.  I like that you can switch up what is sitting on the swing.  I chose to use the cat in this example.  I thought it brought a bit of life to the card.  I felt like the pillows alone were too lonely.   I added the robin to help balance out the design.  I just felt it needed something.

I hope you are finding some calm in the storm.  Remember if you need anything, I'm just an email, text or phone call away.  Hugs to all.

Favorite Flower

Hello....and goodbye,

This is my last card for the coloring challenge hosted by Krista Smith.  I'm sad to see the week come to an end.  I love coloring her images.  Krista you have a gift.  Each image captures a human quality that speaks to so many crafters out there.   Thank you for sharing your gift with us.

I leave you with another one of my favorite images. I love the roses in her hair.  They are so sweet.

Seeds of Tommorrow

Greetings friends,

I made this card for a coloring challenge.  Krista (the host) asked us to pick our favorite image.  That is like trying to pick you favorite flower out of a garden.  That thought landed me on this image.  I love her cute little freckles and hair dancing in the wind.

I went a little nuts on nuvo drops (colorful dots floating in the air).  If I color this again... I'd leave them off.  Oh well... you can't win them all?

Mermaid to be Friends

Welcome fishy friends,

Krista Smith's challenge theme today is "Together".  I know cards are not magic.  HOwever, kindness does work magic.  I'm doing my best to spread a little extra kindness these days.  Hopefully it will bring us all together.

This image was my first choice.  When I sat down to color, I wanted to to do something different with colors.  I was drawing a blank.  As I was coming up with a plan a tricolor kayak passed by (I was having a crafting day at the lake).  I decided to use the colors for card.  There is a photo of the kayak at the end of this post.  Let me know how I did.   In the end, I really like it.  Next time, I think I will choose a lighter shade of blue for the water.  I think the final product came out a little dark.

Best Chapter

Thoughtful Fish

Hello there,

Today is day 2 of the coloring challenge.  The theme is "Thinking of You".  There was something about the look on this mermaids face that made me think she was thinking of someone special.

I pushed myself with the colors a bit.  I usually choose bright colors for mermaids.  This time I picked a more muted color scheme.  I thought the fish looked a little bit like koi.  This was my first time trying to make this marbled look.  I love how it turned out and I think I might try to do this to a mermaid tail soon.

Mermaid Magic

Hello again,

Okay, Okay... I couldn't do it.  If you know me, you know I had to ink up a mermaid.  She is not only one you will see this week.  It is a weakness.

This image is special to me.  Krista Smith drew this based on an idea I sent her.  I caught myself wondering one day if a mermaid and a fairy had a conversation, what would they talk about?  I still don't know the answer... but I bet it happy things.  Now that I think about it... do you think mermaids and unicorns have zoom (internet) meetings?

Beach Please

Hello.

Krista Smith (Saturated Canary) is hosting a coloring challenge this week on her facebook page.  I thought it would be a perfect way to welcome in summer.  The first day is themed "Summer Vibes".  I'm looking forward to this week.  Five days of my favorites images.  Thanks Krista for hosting!

This images has been on my coloring to do list for a while now.  It felt so good to see the ink bring her to life.    I had such a hard time choosing, I may have a second card to share later today!
