Heart is Warm... everything else if cold.

Hello friends!

Winter has arrived here in New York.  The sky is full of big fat chunky flakes.  The air is dry and chilly.  It is a good day to day to play around with a new fun fold and some old friends.  This is one of my favorite Whipper snapper stamps.   I usually use my copics to color it but I used my watercolor pens today.  It gave it a different texture.  I hope you enjoy it these little cuties.

I used  Chromatek watercolor pens to color this image.  I love these markers for watercolor

Best Witches

Hello friends,

I love Halloween!  I'm really looking forward to this year because it is Ryan's first Halloween.  I know he will never remember it, but he is going to look so cute in his costume.  I promise to post pictures once I have them.  So far... I managed to keep his costume a secret.  If you want to see what how he reacted to seeing his costume, click here.

Here is my first Halloween card for the year.   I made several of these.  I made some with yellow sequins and some with purple candy dots.  There are also slight differences in the coloring of the cat.
This card was a little tricky because it has so many small details.  It is a great way to practice coloring with a light hand.

Wonderful Beginning

Hello again,

This card is long overdue to be posted.  I made it years ago.  I had some requests for wedding cards, so I dug this one out.  I love the simplicity of this card.   I kept the coloring minimal to enhance the elegance of the bride.  There is a touch of glitter on the dress.  My favorite part is the subtle pink around her dress.  It is really hard to see in the photos.

Copics used:
B000 on dress
RV10 as shadow
W1 on ground
R29 as flowers
E42, E44 on hair

Herd It is Your Birthday

Hello friends,

I'm hope you are enjoying the long weekend.  My family and I are celebrating at the lake today!!   It is Ryan's first full weekend at the lake.   I'm so excited to share this place with him.  It holds a special place in my heart.

I made this card this past week.  I'm so glad I finally got to use my cow background stamp.  I bought it not having a clue if I'd ever use it or not.  Somehow... I felt I couldn't live without it.  It is a relief to see it all inked up!!

I did some fancy cropping to get his tail to stick off the matte.  I wish it didn't blend in so much with the background.

Special Delivery

Welcome friends,

Mondays can be rough. To help make the transition a little easier. I have a silly video (39 seconds) of our pups.  This was taken last spring... I just found it on my camera.   If you are viewing this post in email, you have to go to click on the link to watch the movie.

One of my Zumba friends asked me to make a card for an upcoming baby shower.  I looked through my baby stamps and found this stork.  It has been a little while since he has seen some ink.  I was thankful for a reason to get him back out.

No day for a Sliver

Happy Friday,

My family has celebrated a few birthday's this month.  I needed to get some birthday cards in the mail.   I found this cute little bear in my stash.  I made this card a while ago, but he never made it on the blog.  I thought it was time to share him with the world.

My favorite part is the popped up balloon. I colored it twice.  I cut one out and used dimensional adhesive to make it look 3D.

Great, Big Puppy Birthday

Hello friends,

If you have been following the blog or know me at all than you know I'm not a fan of the cold.  If I had my way, I would live on the equator.  This weekend, Connor and I decided to drive to the lake  to check on cottage and docks.   We had heard the lake was frozen (very unusual) and wanted to see it for ourselves.   It was beautiful and quiet.  We had a great time playing on the ice.  In my next post, I'll share a video of the dogs playing.  It makes me laugh.  They were so happy!

Some of the ladies had been asking me for some masculine birthday cards.  Manly cards can be a challenge to make.  I dug through my stamps looking for an image that is suitable for a man and I stumbled across this stamp.    I love the way he is looking at that grasshopper.  The grasshopper looks worried too.  "Is he going to be friends with me or eat me?"

First thing I did here was use a multi-liner to draw the markings on the dog.  It isn't as hard as you think, the markings on a dog are random so it won't matter if you it is perfect.  If this is too stressful, you don't have to do this at all.  You can color him all one color.  He looks good all brown.  I wouldn't recommend black. I just thought the markings would add some personality to the puppy.

Grey: N3, N1, 0
Black: 100, N9, N7, N5
Brown: E30, E31, E33, E35
Light Green: YG00, YG01, YG03
Dark Green: YG03, YG06, YG09
Grass: G40, G43 G46

Is it too late to be Good?

Happy Thursday,

I have been sorting through tons of photos over the last few weeks.  I'm starting to make some progress on the Thailand pictures.  I'm still undecided on how to scrapbook them.  I prefer the traditional method, but digital is faster.  My ears are open in anyone has any suggestions.

In the sorting I came across this one.  It was the only photo I took over Thanksgiving.  I think we took so many over our trip, we forgot to get the cameras out for the holiday.  My Mom made a delicious meal.  It was so good!   My picture-finger will be rested before Christmas..

This card is for all my Cat-Loving friends out there!  You put up will all my dog stories...so I wanted to make something special.  This kitty looks like she has been causing trouble...

 Copics Used:

Cat: W3, W5, W7, W9-  I just varied the amount of each color in different sections of the cat
Cheeks: W1
Nose: R11, R20
Red: R24, R29, R39, R59
Green: G20, G21, G24
Blue: B12, B16
Red: R14, R24
Purple: BV00, BV02
Snow: B00, B000
Bell: Y17, Y26- Not sure I love this.  I wish it was more gold.
I used my black multi-liner to draw border around the white card stock
I also put some glossy accents on the bulbs.  It gives them a little shiny look. Very hard to see in photos.

Welcome Friends,

I'm rolling out another "Throw Back Thursday" Card.  I made this fishy card a while ago and he has been patiently waiting his debut.   He injured little fish will steel your heart.  He has bumped his head and is feeling a little "Crappie".  On the inside it reads "What a pain in the BASS!"
