By the Sea

Happy Monday,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Connor and I went to our family's cottage and worked with my Mom and sister to clean up the leaves, install the water, and do Spring cleaning.   It was nice to be near the water.  There is something so calming about it!  It is my happy place.

Copics used:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Pink: R81, R83, R85
Green: G20, G24, G28
Hair: Y21, E53, E31
Coconut: E70, E71, E74
Straw and Glasses: B000

Sand:  I used E30 (any light brown will work) to draw in where I wanted the sand.  I colored the entire area you want to be sandy.  Let this dry!  This will prevent the grains of sand you add from blending into each other.   Then use a selection of browns to make lots and lots of dots of various sizes to create sand.   If you are feeling brave, add some grays.   I tried to make the dots darker  and closer together towards the bottom of the card.  As they move towards the top they are lighter and farther apart.  Have fun with it.

At Least You Aren't Extinct

Happy Tuesday,

I wanted to add a smile to your day.   I love this little dinosaur.  He is ADORABLE!   Check out the inside sentiment is sure to put a smile on your face.

I used a light green stamp pad to stamp on the dark green paper.  I wanted it to mesh texture to be subtle.  The camera picked up the texture really well, I think it is less pronounced in real life.

Sip Sliding Away

Happy Sunday!

Summer seems to be back for now.  This past week I feel like Summer, itself took a little vacation.  I didn't like wearing a sweatshirt!  I'm not ready to put my flip flops away!  Thankfully today has been beautiful and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

Maybe this little lady has the right idea...

Fairy Sweet Friend

Happy Friday!

I'm looking forward to this weekend.  This Sunday, Connor and I are going to TRY to run a 5K.  I'm not a runner....not even close.  I know that I won't be able to run the entire thing, but I'll do my best and be happy with it.  If you see me on Monday...take pity on me... who knows what kind of shape I'll be in.  I might crawl into stamp class.  :)

Today's post is showcasing a card we made way back in March.  I'm trying to make a dent in backlog of cards.  I used a stamp from Kraftin Kimmie.  I colored and cut out the fairy and placed her on the matte.   I love the way she appears to pop out of the frame.  Such a cool affect.

Copics used:
Pink: RV14, RV17, RV19
Skin: E00, E000, E11

Note about coloring: I was very light handed about coloring her stockings.  Don't be afraid to leave some areas white.

Fairy Good Friend

Change is good, right?

I remember when I was little, I hated onions.  I remember refusing to eat anything that had onions in it.  I may have even cried and thrown a fit.  Now, I order food with onions all the time.  There was also a decade of time that I hated the color PINK.  I mean hated PINK.  Now, it is one of my favorite colors.  In the last week, I've noticed a new change to add to the list.  Fairies.  I have been stamping for about 15 years and have more stamps that I would ever admit too.  However.... not a single one was a fairy.  Just couldn't get behind the idea.

As I was putting away some new stamps, I noticed many of them have wings.  When I placed the order... it didn't occur to me they had this feature in common. What happened? I'm still not ready to start a fairy collection.  I'm not going to get a Tinkerbell tattoo, but I think I'm going to love using my new fairy stamps!!!

The background color of this card is a dark purple (Elegant Eggplant).  It is really dark in the photos.

Kick Up Your Heels

Kraftin' Kimmie
I'm smitten with a Kraftin Kimmie.  It isn't a new stamp company, but it is to me.  This is my first Kraftin Kimmie stamp.  I love how it turned out!  It makes me want to Kick Up MY Heals!

Copics Used:
Purple: V12, V15, V17
Skin: E00, E000, E11, BV00
Eyes: BV01
Hair: E30, E31, Y21
Ground: T8, T6, T4, T3, T1, T0, 0

Tip:  To get the shadow on the ground. I put blender on the paper first.  Then applied the shades of grey. It helped the grey ink move on the paper.
