This Bouquet is for You

Old Version
This card has been recycled.  I originally made this card many years ago.  It was long before copic markers hit the scene.    I loved the original card that I made with colored pencils.   It was in desperate need of a make-over.

Recycled Version

The card is exactly the same as the original, just colored with copics.  I love how the colors just POP!

Learning to Dance in the Rain

Sorry I haven't posted all week.  Connor was sick all week.  Thankfully he is feeling better and we can get caught up on things.  This card was from last Monday's class.

I love the blues in this card.   I started coloring this image with the hopes of improving the way I color blonde hair.  It is something I struggle with.  I don't like it when the hair looks orange.   I like the way this one turned out.  I'm going to continue to practice.  I'm all ears, if anyone has suggestions.
Tilda in Mid-Summer Rain
Supplies used:
Paper: Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, White
Punch: from Martha Stewart
Stamps: Tilda in Mid-Summer Rain
Copics:
Skin: E00, E000, E01, R01
Hair: E31, E53, E51, YR31
Dark Blue: B28, B26, B24
Light Blue: B01, B00, B000
Shadow: W1, W0
Umbrella handle: E37, E35

It is hard to see in the photo, but there is a small amount of glitter on the top of the umbrella and on her skirt.  I didn't want big flakes of glitter that come from Stickles.  I went through my stash and found Illuminate Smooch.  I love Smooches.  they are a great way to add details to a project.

I have some catching up to do from last week.  More cards will be posted soon!!

Fall Tilda, Fall Card Kit Part 3

The last card in the kit uses an old Tilda.  This Tilda has a slightly different style than the images in later releases.  I still think she is adorable...

I stamped, colored and then fussy cut out Tilda.  She is glued on top of the embossed grass.  The inside of this card reads "Fall is when Nature Turns to Gold".

I hope you enjoyed.  Card kits are $10 and available in my Ebay or Etsy shops.  I have a copic journal page for each card.  I'll email you those with a purchase of the kit.  I only have a few of Fall Kits available, so reserve yours today!

Happy Fall Y'all!
Chris

Tilda and Peanut, Fall Card Kit Part 2

Today is part two of the Fall Card Kit release.  Today's card uses Tilda with Peanut.  I love the way Tilda's hair is blowing in the wind.  Very Pretty.   I used coordinating colors to match yesterday's card.    On the edges of the white piece of card stock I sponged brown ink.  I was hoping to give it a more rustic feel.

On the red card stock I stamped little swirls or little gusts of wind.  It is a little detail that is hard to see in the photos.  I hope you enjoy!

There is One in Every Crowd

I have another "knee-slapper" card for you.  It is hard not to laugh at these woodland creatures.  I love smirk on the skunks face.  You can tell he is up to something!!

I'm so proud of my students.  Many of you have made the jump into the land of copics.  Learning to blend and pick colors can be difficult.   It was a common place in class to hear: "What color did you use to get the look?".    I was brainstorming ideas with my husband to help answer those questions.   My husband drew me the chart below.   I will try to fill do these more often.    Please give me some feedback.  Is this helpful?
I made the image as large as possible.  If you purchase a card kit, I will send you file as a pdf

Happy Stamping,
Chris

Nutty For You

I'm nutty for this card.  Tomorrow night is the Card Lover's Class. I hope you will come and join us for some fall fun.

This card is a bit unusual for me.  I'm crazy for copics and that is reflected in that almost all of my cards use them.  However, I saw this technique and wanted to give it a try.  The coloring in created by sponging the acorns.   The top acorn is placed on a raised glue dot.

I hope you enjoy!
Hugs,
Chris

Santa's Best Friend

Hello All,

Today went by in a blink of an eye.  My husband and I wanted to spend the weekend at the lake, but rainy skies talked us into staying home.  Not that I want to admit it, but it was very helpful.  We both caught up on little projects that we started months ago.

My biggest accomplishment today was cleaning my craft room.  I will admit that, it was overdue.  But for a few short hours.. everything is put away.  All of my stamps are put into their proper bins.  The floor is free of scraps of paper.  The table is free of all crafting materials.  Connor joked that he forgot we had that table.   Before I go and make another mess,  I thought I would share this card.

Santa's Best Friend

My sister gave me this Santa stamp as a gift last Christmas.  She knew I'd love his four legged friend.  I colored him with copics (see below for details) and then fussy cut him out.   Santa is a big man!  Really, this is a very large image.  Once I had him cut out, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with him.

I found some tree shaped cards in my stash.  It was almost as if Santa was made for these tree cards.

Here are the copics I used:
Red: R29, R27, R24
boots: 100, T8, T6, T5, T4  white gel pen for accents
Gold: Y28, YR24
Skin: E00, E0000, R00
Gloves: E51, E50
Puppy: E37, E35, E33, E31
Beard: T2, T1, T0
Green: G09

Join the Purple Lake Stamps Card Club!

Hello Stampers,

If you follow this blog, then you probably are aware, every Monday a group of women and I get together and make cards.   I'm proud to say that our group has grown over the last year.   One of my students pointed out that I have never put an invitation on the blog for you to join us.  I wanted to make sure that you know you are welcome!

No matter where you live, you can join us for class.  Each week you make two unique cards... for a total of 8 cards per month.  For those in the US, the cost is $25 for 8 cards (shipping included).   I will mail supplies to you via USPS.   I will post card samples on the blog and share my copic combinations with you.  I'm always available if you need help.   In most cases, you only need glue and coloring medium (i.e. colored pencils, copics, markers) to finish the card.

Please note, that some stamp companies have strict policies about using images in classes.  You may see images from them on my blog, but they are not included in the classes.  I try to adhere to each companies policies.  If you have questions, please send me a note.

The class meant to be instructional and help us grow as artists.  As a member of the class, you can email me your work and get feedback and suggestions.   Please send me an note if you have questions.  Please take a look at my blog to see what we have made at previous classes.

I hope you will make us part of your week.

Happy Stamping,
Chris

Please subscribe to the coloring card club below... or send me an email and I can get you started.   I hope you will join us!

Do you want more cards?  There is a now a Super-Sized option to get 14 cards a month!
