Hello Friends!
My family and I had a great week in Belize. We were able to see howler monkeys, climb Mayan ruins, zip line through the rainforest and float in a tube through sacred caves. It really was an unBelizeable trip.
Here are my five favorite pictures:

Home is Where My Honey Bee
I have loved being part of the "Don't Bug Me" Challenge. I hope you found some inspiration along the way.
My last card was a team effort between my husband and me. I told him I wanted a bee hive shaped card. He went to work on the computer and made a template. He wants me to add that he was inspired by postings on the internet. He never stops surprising me.
I used Honey Tilda to decorate the hive. Her wings have yellow stickles on them. I sponged ink around each layer of the hive to give some depth to the hive. The grass was created with the Martha Stewart Grass Punch.
Copics Used:
Black: T8, T7, T6, T5, T4, T3, T2
Yellow: Y19, Y17, Y15
Red: R29
I hope you all enjoyed the "Don't Bug Me" Challenge.
Chris

Life is Good
Summer is here. We are so blessed to live so close to the lake. It is time to enjoy the long summer days, feel the warm breeze, play fetch with our two puppies, listening to my dad's fishing stories and ice cream. I love Summer, LIFE IS GOOD.
This card is part of the Card Lover's class we had last week. The paper is from Stampin Up. The fishing stamp is really old. I have had it forever, does anyone know who makes it? The fish at the bottom are from Magnolia.
I hope you enjoy a piece of summer today,
Chris

Fish Bowl
I wanted a card shaped like a fish bowl. I had this idea of making a whole scene. I looked on the internet for a pattern, but didn't find anything that matched the picture in my head. So I asked my dear husband if he had any ideas. It didn't take long before he came up this this...
He did a great job with the shape. I added some fish, Tilda, and a little bit of sparkle.
Happy Stamping,
Chris

My first Easel Card
Today marks the third week of the "Don't Bug Me" Challenge. Time to dust off and ink up those bug stamps!
My third card uses Tilda with a Straw Hat. This has long been one of my favorite Tilda Stamps. The butterfly is small but cute! I know easel cards have been around for years, but I just hadn't tried my hand at it. This is my end result.
I love the look of clean and simple cards!
Here are the materials you need to recreate it.
Stamps: Tilda with Straw Hat, sentiment from Stampin Up
Copics:
Hair: E25, E35, E33, E31
Boots and Hat: E55, E53, E51, E50
Dress: W3, W2, W1, W0, 0
Pinks: R83, R81, R56
Butterfly: Y19, YR07

Poppies
Anyone who knows me will tell you that my thumbs are any color but green. My house is where plants come to fade away. I even killed a cactus. It took me about 2 years to do it, but I managed somehow to do it.
Needless to say, I stopped buying actual flowers and started to buy flower stamps. It is much safer for all involved. This summer, I have fallin' in love with Poppies. The rich red is just wonderful.
I kept this card simple it is red, white and green. I used copics to color the flowers. My favorite reds at the moment are R29, R27, R24.

Laughter is an Instant Vacation
Tilda is going on vacation! Bright Tilda is a special release stamp from Magnolia. She arrived earlier this week and I couldn't wait to ink her up. The blue paper is embossed with flowers. The inside reads: "Laughter is an Instant Vacation".
Copics used: I made this card two years ago... but I think I used the following...
Grey: C1, C3
Hair: Y21, E31
Red: R24, R27, R29
Green: G02
Rope: E33
Blue: B00, B01
Boat: E40
Brick: R56, R59 and E04
Skin: E00, E000, R11- This is the old way of doing skin.
I recently went back over the card with E000, E00 and E11 and softened the look.
I added some glitter on her dress and champagne.
Happy Stamping!!

Delight in Life
Hello Friends!
This month's challenge is "Going Buggy". Make a card that has a ladybug, butterfly, bee, grasshopper, dragonfly, caterpillar, etc... You can use anything else you want. Let your imagine fly away. There is no charge to participate in the challenge. Just email me a picture of your card (I can help with this, if needed). At the end of the month, I will share all of your creations!
I have posted some inspiration for you. This has been one of my favorite new cards. The flowers were created with an embossing folder by Cuddlebug. The stamps are from a retired Stampin Up set called "Delight in Life". All paper is from Stampin Up. The red gemstones can be purchased at any of the major craft stores.

My bookmark card uses Ladybug Tilda.
She is from the 2010 Raising the Ceiling collection. I think she is adorable
and I wanted the recipient of the card to enjoy her for a while. I
made the front image a bookmark. After coloring with copics, I
laminated the image to protect it from fingerprints and moisture. Then used the slit punch by Stampin Up to create
the tabs to hold it in place.
Below is a picture of just the bookmark.
