Birthday Texts

Hello friends,

Texting and technology have become such a big part of our lives of course it will show up in card making!!

This card looks really easy to create, but it was a challenge to design.  Die cutting the texting bubbles was easy, but finding words to fit them was difficult.  I looked through piles and piles of stamp sets for words that would work together.  As you can see... I couldn't fill all the bubbles with words...so I included a present emoji.   I also learned the "clear" stamps do not emboss as nicely as traditional rubber.  There was lots of learning in just one project.  I love when that happens.

Painted Petals

Hello all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's day yesterday.  It was fun to celebrate Connor's first Father's Day.  We spent the day at the lake with family.  It was perfectly simple!

Last week was a busy week.  I had a great time meeting up with the Corning, Appleridge, and Brockport group.  I had missed seeing you all.  I hope you all enjoyed the Card Lover's class.  I was so inspired by your creativity, I came home and started planning July's classes!

Here is one of the cards we made last week...

I love the softness of this stamp set.  It creates an elegant watercolor look.  However, I was disappointed on how difficult it was to line the leaves up with the flowers.  I don't think the end result looks bad, but I wish the designers at Stampin Up would have spent a little longer on the issue.

I put a pearl drop in the center of the blossoms.  It adds a little something special to the card.

Worth the Tassel

Hello friends,

Graduation season is quickly approaching (or already here depending on where you live).  In my late nights up with the baby.. I find myself perusing Pintrest.  I recently saw this graduation card I liked.  I didn't have any of the stamps, but really liked the colors and layout.  It inspired me to create my own version of the card.  I like this so much, I really liked how it turned out. I might make a card for the ladies.

Birthday Balloon

Hello all,

I went to lunch with a friend and her daughter last week.  Her daughter is the most adorable two year old.  The hostess must have thought so too because she gave her a balloon as we were leaving the restaurant.   It is amazing that an air filled sphere can generate so much joy.  It was a treat to watch her delight.

My afternoon lunch date inspired me to pick this image to color.  This little girl looks as delighted too!
