Thankful and Grateful

 Hello all,

Guess who is behind on blog posts again?  Well.  What can I say.. I'm human.

We made these cards back in November.    I used the pumpkin turnbout stamp to create the background.  If you never seen these.  They are awesome. Here is a video of a different turnabout.  I love the background they create.    I did struggle picking out colors for this one.  My first attempt used four different shades of orange.  I think I could have signaled the space station with it.  It was BRIGHT.  I decided to to switch two of the oranges out for a green and brown.  These are not colors that I think of when pumpkins. In the end I think it was the right choice.  These cards capture the beautiful Fall feeling.    What do you think?

Falling for Gnomes

 Hello friends.

I've been stamping for over 25+ years( gosh is that hard to admit to myself).  It has been amazing journey watching all the trends over the years.  Things come and go out of style just like anything else.   The coolest thing is seeing the improvements in products.   When I started,  decorative scissors were the newest and coolest product... we have come a long way... check out the detail in these dies.  The details are just incredible.

I may have gone a little nuts, but I was having a blast.  If you asked if I was a gnome person... I would have said no.  Then I saw this Fall Add on- Gnome set and I was in love.   I couldn't wait to pulled out some scrap paper and have a die cutting party.   It was so fun mixing and matching and creating cards.  The sunflower and the acorn hats just warm my heart.   (pst...Christmas gnomes are in the works!)

Materials:
Gnome Birthday Set-- has single gnome body in it.  You could just cut apart bodies in starter set to create cards.

Ink:
Taylored Expression Ink Toffee or mini-  I used this to add some dimension to some of the die cuts
White gel pen:  Scrapbook or Amazon- optional

Paper:
Card Stock from Stampin Up

Glue:
Bearly Art Glue- Amazon or Taylored Expressions--best glue ever! especially for small places!
Tacky Glue (for big spaces)-

These stand up on a table or mantel as a little decoration.  I was thinking about making some into magnets.  What do you think?  Good idea or Bad idea?

I made a few variations.  Do you have a favorite?

Spectacular Fall

Greetings!
This might be one of my all time favorite fall cards.  I just love the way the colors look together.  This card is made pretty easy by using the stamp and stencil combo by Taylored Expressions.  First I heat embossed my panels with gold sparkle heat embossing powder.   Then, I used blending bush on the main color.  I finished off each leaf by using a detail brush to add just a hint of shading with the darker color.  It created a beautiful panel.  I didn't want to cover up all that hard work... so I finished it off with just a sentiment. What do you think?

Bring on the Color

 Hello friends,

I always hate to see summer fade.  At least fall takes the sting out of it by giving us beautiful colors to admire.  The leaves are just starting to change here.  I'm doing my best to get on board! This stamp is called Soft Seedling by Stampin Up.  It didn't catch my eye right away, but after seeing so many wonderful cards made with it. I had to have it.  I inked it up as soon as the UPS guy dropped it off.

What is your favorite season?  Do you have a favorite part of Fall?

Simple Things

 Hello friends,

This is one of my favorite house mouse stamps.  Do I say that every time?  I love house mouse.  I made a card like this about 10 years ago.  I found it as I was rummaging through some stamping stuff.   I've grown so much  in my coloring skills, I really wanted to remake the card.   Ah... I'm so glad I did.  I'm smitten. He is just so stinkin' adorable!  I might also be a bit jealous.  Floating on a leaf.. sounds relaxing. Where do I sign up?

Turkey Die Cutting Card

 Gobble, Gobble,

I wanted to take a break from coloring.  With the help of my wonderful husband we created used some die cuts to create this turkey face.   He looks a bit worried.  What does he have to be worried about? Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday.

Winnie and Piglet

Hello,

A little while ago I found someone who is selling their vintage stamps.  I was able to snag a bunch of them.  It was a great find because companies generally do not feature licensed images anymore.   It was a lot of fun to color up Winnie and Piglet.  They seemed to be enjoying the windy fall day.    Stay tuned to see what other cartoon stamps I picked up.  I can't wait to show you!

So Full of Thanks

 Greetings,

This weather this weekend was wonderful!  We took full advantage of the sunshine and went to the pumpkin patch and took the dogs for long walks.   It was a wonderful combination of warm weather, pumpkin, corn mazes and donuts.  What did you do on this warm fall weekend?

I love the new creative touches companies are adding to their dies.  The dies cut out the bears hands so they can hold their Thanksgiving treats.

Nature's Gold (Easy Watercolor)

 Greetings,

Fall has officially arrived in upstate NY.  The leaves here are colorful and dancing in the wind.  I'm sad to see summer fade, but the beauty that fall brings is spectacular.  I wanted to celebrate that color in today's  card.

I used dye ink pads to watercolor this pumpkins.  Any dye ink pads can be used they do not need to be this brand of ink.

Materials:

You can watch how I made this card here.  If you reading this in your email they video will not play.  You need to go to youtube or the blog to watch.

This is the card I made with the more red mixed into the orange.

This card features the more orange pumpkins.

Hello pumpkin

 Greetings,

I'm back to day with my favorite pumpkin stamp.  It is a layering stamp from Strawberry Jude.   I seem to drag this stamp set out every Fall.   If you want to see the cards I've made in past years, you can click on the links below.

Birthday Pumpkin

Pumpkin Patch

Check out how awesome this pumpkin looks!  I kept the card really simple, so the focus will be on the pumpkin.   I'd love to hear what pumpkin card is your favorite of the three times I've used this stamp.

Grateful-- Stenciled Leaves

Welcome,

We are at the peak of Fall colors here in NY.  It is absolutely beautiful and inspiring.    Today I used the negative space from the leaf die create a stencil.  Love the simple fun look it gave this card.
