Hello friends,
It wanted to dedicate this card to a Connie. I met Connie and her Mom three years ago. I invited Connie to join my Copic club. She and her mom started attending the Monday group. She quickly became a regular. Connie loved to color. I really enjoyed watching her grow over the last few years. Her art work was improving all the time. Recently, she framed one of the cards she made because she so proud of how it turned out. Connie had a kind, warm heart. She brought joy to so many. A few weeks ago, the doctors discovered a tumor on her pituitary gland. She went in for surgery to have it removed. Unfortunately, she died shortly later from complications from the surgery. Our hearts go out to her Mom, husband, and 3 boys. Connie loved them all so much. It was clear from all the stories Connie shared with us in class. We will miss her. Monday's will not be the same without her.
This card is one that she would have loved. She loved Tilda. It has been a long time running joke about Tilda's lack of mouth. "Where did it go?" she'd ask in a silly way. I hope she is smiling down on us now. I will smile every time I think of her.
This card was inspired by some happy memories. Connor and I used to go see the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C when we lived in Delaware. I love life in NY, but I do miss the going to the cherry blossom festival. I can't make the trip to D.C. this year...but I can still enjoy them in my craft room.

Playing Hide and Seek
Hello friends,
I like exploring some different card formats. I found these really cool patterns for Easter cards. I shared the Chick card with you last week. With my husband's help we made a bunny version. I hope you enjoy...
I thought this would be perfect for a younger kid, they might appreciate this over a colored card. The bunny can double as a bookmark.
No copics.
I used a copic multiliner to add spots to his bunny face.
I used a white gel pen to add marks to his eyes.
I used brown and pink ink to sponge the pieces to add some dimension to the bunny.

Flowers from the Heart
Hello friends,
Spring is finally here!! I'm so ready to wave goodbye to the snow. Last Friday, we had to cancel class because of the weather. I'm hoping that is the last time for a long, long time!
Here is one of the cards we were planning on making last Friday. Hopefully we will find a way to squeeze it into a future class. This is one of my favorites styles of cards. It is a center step card. I love that the card sits perfectly on the table so the image can be easily enjoyed.

No day for a Sliver
Happy Friday,
My family has celebrated a few birthday's this month. I needed to get some birthday cards in the mail. I found this cute little bear in my stash. I made this card a while ago, but he never made it on the blog. I thought it was time to share him with the world.
My favorite part is the popped up balloon. I colored it twice. I cut one out and used dimensional adhesive to make it look 3D.

What came first, chicken or the egg?
Hello friends,
I love shaped cards. They are so fun to make! I'm so lucky to have a husband who is willing to help me with these. It wouldn't be possible without him. So a BIG, HUGE THANK YOU to Connor for helping make these happen!
This cute little chick will fit in a standard envelope. To add some depth to him I sponged some orange ink on the chick and blue ink on the bow. I also use a white gel pen to add some details to the bow and eyes.

Then Saturday I enjoyed welcoming some new people into the world of copics. I love seeing people discover the magic of these wonderful makers. I look forward to watching them grow and learn over the next year or so. What did you guys work on?

Delicious Donuts
Hello Stampers,
Let me apologize in advance....this post might make you hungry! The stamping companies have been releasing donut dies and stamps like crazy. Who can resist this delicious trend? I admit I caved into my craving and bought a set.
I look forward to playing more with this set, but I found this idea on Pinterest. I changed and added some details to make it more my own.
I'm off to make a donut run... Nom..Nom...Nom..

Growing an Old Friend
Hello Stamping Friends,
I have another challenging card to share with you. This image has lots of detail. It was a lot of fun to color and discover all small details hidden in this image. My advice is if you are going to color this. Take your time. If you get tired, take a break and come back to it. You can do it... just take it slow.

Tulip Blessings
Happy Monday Friends,
Have you ever heard the saying "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a Lamb"? I really hope that is true! Winter is still raging but I'm dreaming of Spring. Hopefully tulips will start popping up in the garden soon.
I love this photo. What a contrast? winter vs. spring |
Copics used:
Purple: V000, V01, V04, V06, V09
Green: YG61, YG63, YG67, G94,G99
Yellow: Y13, Y17
Blue: B95, B93, B91, B00, B000
I didn't airbrush the background. It would have been really hard to mask this image. I started at the bottom of this card with the darkest and blended up towards to the top of the flowers. It is important to work while the ink is wet. This will help avoid streaks.
