Snowy Friend

 Hello,

It has been a few weeks since I posted.  I took a break from making cards over Christmas.   I managed to finish seven scrapbook layouts.  It felt good to see the finished pages in my book.   I'm hoping to get a few more done this month.

I put my Christmas stamps away and pulled out my snowman stamps.  Gosh, I love snowmen.  This one is so sweet.  She looks so peaceful.   I love this card in pink, but I might have to explore colors.  What colors would you suggest?

Thank you for Splitcoaststampers for showcasing my card.   I had several people ask about where to get the stamp.  It is a digital image.  You can find it here.

Tulip Love Tilda

Hello all,

This is my last card in my "thinking of you series".  I'm planning on working on some spring birthday card's and scrapbook pages in the next week or so.   Are there any other scrapbookers out there?

This stamp is from the last Magnolia release.  It is called Tulip Love.  I was organizing my embossing folders and thought she paired perfectly with this old folder.  I placed the paper so the flowers are actually depressed rather than raised on the card.  I thought it gave an interesting texture.   I made a video a while back showing how I color my Tilda stamps.  You can check that our here if interested.

Mystery Flower

Hello friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend.  It was certainly surreal.  We usually spend Easter with extended family.  This was the first Easter we spent at home.   We did our best to make it special. We made a bunny cake, colored eggs, and had a visit from the Easter Bunny.   Hopefully this quarantine thing will not become a regular thing.  Nothing makes up for the missing time with family.  Sending big HUGS out to all those missing family.  You are not alone.

Today's is card #4 in my thinking of you series.  This stamp is from Flourish stamps.  I've had this stamp for years and it is only seeing ink now.   I'm really enjoying chipping aways at my unused pile.  I have no idea what kind of flower it is.  I just picked a favorite shade of pink and colored it up.  What do you think?  Anyone know what kind of flower it is?

Owls and Pumpkins

Hello,

Thank you for joining me today.  I was driving today and noticed that in just even a day or so the leaves are more orange and yellow than green.   When we got home, the toddler and I played in the leaves that have collected on the back porch.  He loved the crunch sound they make.

This little owl is chillin in with this buddy, thinking of you!

Purr-Fect

Welcome friends,

This was cat was a little bit of a challenge for me.  There was a lot of detail and the this sassy cat has its head held in a way that created lots of shadow.  I don't know if it is Purr-fect, but I'm pretty satisfied with how it came out.

Flower Perch- in copic-- video included

Hello,

My crafty friend Lisa and I were chatting the other day about how different stamps can look different depending on how you color.  We thought it would be a fun idea to see how each approached a stamped image.   We picked Penny Black's Flower Perch.

We picked the image because we thought it would look amazing in both watercolor (she is awesome with watercolor) and copic.   Other than that we didn't have a plan.  Here is how my card turned out.  Click here to go to Lisa's watercolor post.   Please be sure to leave her a comment and tell her hello!

Here is the video I made showing my process:
(If you are in your email the video won't play. You need to go to youtube or my blog)

Okay...so I made two of them.  Practice. Practice Practice.
Copics are listed in the video.

You Got a Friend in Me

Welcome,

Just a quick post today.  Check out these cuties friends.  This image tugs at my heart.  We used to throw two sticks in the lake for our two puppies to fetch.  They used to both grab the same stick and swim it in together.  As our dogs have matured, they don't share sticks anymore.  They are still best of friends.

Furr-Friend Faux Letterpress

Greetings,

I can't take full credit for this idea.  I saw the J. McGuire do this in one of her videos.  I used the die cuts to stamp and deboss the paper.   It is simple, but stunning.  I wanted to give it a try.  I used Spellbinders dog dies to create this card.   I'm glad to have this technique in my bag of tricks.

No copics today.

I finished it off with glossy accents.

My Dear Kind and Wonderful Friend

Hello all,

There is no coloring class today.

I hope you are spending today with family and friends and remembering all those who have served our Country.  The plan is to spend a quite day together as a family.

Today's card is part of my Inky Mission to use stamps sets that have been collecting dust.  The bird is from a really old SU stamp set.

Layered Dies

Hello stamping buddies,

What will stamp companies think of next?  I love layering stamps... and now we have layering dies.  I love how realistic this flower is.  It was a little bit of a pain to figure out how to assemble it, but it was worth the trouble.

My Monthly Hero Arts March 2018: Get the Message

Hello all,

I managed to sneak in another My Monthly Hero Challenge.  It is a bit later than usual, but I didn't want to miss this a chance to play with this stamp/die set.   I really liked the dies in this set.  They are really beautiful.  I know that I will get a lot of use out of them.   I hope Hero Arts will release a Happy Birthday in the same font.

The kit this month was all about sentiments.  The stamp set came with words in a variety of fonts that you could pair together to build a variety of different sentiments.  It is a really cool idea.   I think I'll get a lot of use of of the stamps/dies.   However, I did find it to be a challenge not to pull in other products to support the sentiments.  I decided that is was more important to me to make cards I love  rather than stick directly to the kit.   I tried to pick stamps by Hero Arts so that if anyone wants to find them it would be easy to do so.

Okay...enough chit chat... Here are the cards.

If you like to watch the video.  Please note if you are looking at this in your email the video won't play.  You need to go to the blog or youtube to watch
