We live in upstate NY and we were covered with a thick layer of snow over the last day or so. Most things were closed. It was a good day to stay home and do a little catch up. I was sorting and trying to put away things in my craft room and I found a trio of cards. I think I made these three years ago.
I love the simple design. All the focus in on the heart and fun sentiments. Do you have a favorite in the bunch?

It was a hot and humid day here in NY. I'm a summer girl, it didn't bother me one bit! I wanted to inject some of this summer into the cards I was making. I made a card with this unicorn a little while ago. He was holding coffee. I went through my other stamps to see what other food items he could munch on. Can you get more watermelon than summer? I think I might make a Autumn version of this card. I love the playfulness of this!

Yeah!! We are officially allowed to talk about Halloween. Halloween is such a fun holiday. You get to dress up,and eat candy. What could be wrong with that?
My card today is made from a Splash die. I thought the little drops looked like ghosts floating around. I dug through my stash of stamps to find faces that would fit in the little droplets. I love that I got to use this die in a "creative" way.

Craft show season is coming and I'm starting to make some preparations. I thought it would be a good idea to make some patriotic cards. The birch press dies worked perfectly to incorporate red-white-blue themed backgrounds. The remind me a little of fireworks. What do you think?
I love how easy (and cute) this card was to create. I used the picture book die from SSS. I die cut it out of a few colors cardstock. I did a little sponging and reassembled him. I love how he can hold a little piece of candy. It just makes the card sweeter.
I have another simple card to share. I went through my die collection to find a embossing folders, punches, and dies that could be used together to make a snowman. I love the silver glitter paper on the hat. It needed a little shine.
I created the background today by using distress oxide inks on glossy paper. I smooshed the ink onto the paper and let it dry. You can't control what pattern it creates, but I think that is part of the beauty. The polar bears are from Hero Arts (click here). You can also see the set here.

I can't take full credit for this idea. I saw the J. McGuire do this in one of her videos. I used the die cuts to stamp and deboss the paper. It is simple, but stunning. I wanted to give it a try. I used Spellbinders dog dies to create this card. I'm glad to have this technique in my bag of tricks.
