January is finally over! Why does that month always seem to be the longest of the year? This was a pretty rough one in our family. We lost our dog Widget on Jan 12th and then my grandmother on Jan 28th. So many of you have send me notes of support. I just wanted to say thank you for lifting me up when I was down. I'm so blessed to have so many of you in my life.

We all have bad days. I love making cards that encourage and lift other up. This sentiment made me laugh. I hope it does the same to whomever gets this cards. I made a batch of these to put out of my craft table. Hopefully everyone likes them.

Hi! The diet wagon stamp from technique junkies has always been one of my favorites. It just makes me laugh every time. It was the first image I thought of when I read this new sentiment form TJ. I thought this would make a fun encouragement card. Hopefully it inspires you to do something crafty today!

I love encouragement cards! Adulting is hard and I think we need than more than ever before. I was so excited to see this new sentiment from Technique Junkies.
To make this card I used mirror card stock and glitter card stock. I wish the camera could capture the sparkle. I love the mix of texture between the mirror and the glitter. I used a round circle for the sentiment because disco balls are round. Simple, but I thought it was the right choice!
I hope you feel inspired and you remember that you are a a bright light... don't be afraid to shine!

I love this new stamp "What Little Girls Are Made of". My dad had two girls but he was determined that we were going to be able to take care of ourselves. He used to wrestle with us, teach us to use power tools, and change the oil in our cars. He said we could be anything but fragile. At the time, I didn't really think anything of it, but now as a grown woman I appreciate all the things I can do. Mostly, I'm thankful that I'm not afraid to try. I'm glad the words we use to describe women are changing. Look out world... a new generation of strong, talented, and confident women are on the way...

Again, I'm in love with this realistic style stamp from Technique Junkies. This bear is amazing. I wanted to create a scene where he was walking in the woods. I used an embossing folder to create the trees. On the debossed side of the paper I carefully stamped the bear. It gives the illusion that the bear is behind the trees. I added some blue ink and glitter to create a wintery feel. I felt like it still needed something...so I splattered silver sparkle watercolor all over to create a snow storm. I'm so glad I did. The card has the perfect amount of sparkle.

It is release day at Technique Junkies! When I saw this wolf, my jaw dropped. It is so hard to find realistic stamps of animals. Don't get me wrong, I love whimsy and goofy! It is also nice t have realistic designs as well. I think this style lends itself well to creating masculine cards. I paired the wolf with this encouragement sentiment.

If you follow me at all...you know I love a good laugh. Technique Junkies is great at coming up with some silly sentiments. These are great to send as thinking of you or encouragement cards. I have a simple technique to share today. I stamped the rhino and sentiment on a watercolor wash. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to the rhino. It is so simple but it really adds a lot. What do you think?

I love this new Betty White Sentiment set at Technique Junkies . Betty White was such an inspiration and her loss was felt by many. I'm so glad we can continue to celebrate her through our card making.
This is my favorite sentiment in the set. I paired it with a Butterfly swell die from Memory Box. I sponged the background with Seedless Preserves. I wanted the bottom to be darker and lighten as it moved closer to the top of the card. I also cut black paper to make bodies for the butterflies. They felt naked without them.

Are you afraid of white space? It makes me uncomfortable. I struggle with leaving white spaces on my cards. I like to challenge myself and push boundaries. I tackled this by making my mat on the card smaller than I normally use. It is 3 3/4 by 5 inches. Then used some powerful colors in the middle. I think the white tames them a little. This stamp was perfect for this type of layout. I love how she breaking her boundaries and pushing her way out of the center box. It is a little detail... but it makes me happy.

It was only available for a short time, but they have several other sets that are adorable! They all are so sweet. More Pooh cards are coming...

I think that encouragement cards are becoming more and more important. I made this card before the struggle in the Ukraine, but I as I read the verse now. It seems to be appropriate for the situation. My heart breaks for Ukrainian people. We are rooting for you.
Card Details: I used a sunray stencil to create the light rays. After stenciling I adds fine yellow glitter to the bulbs to help them shine.
