Clocking Out

Hey friends!

This card was inspired by my friend Patty.  She asked me for a retirement card and some ideas for inspiration and this is what we settled on for a final product.   I love collaborating together on ideas.   This is such a cool idea.  I love the idea of the clock numbers calling off.   I happened to have the hands of time dies from an old Papertrey Ink set from 20 years ago.    While I had them out I made a more traditional card.  (Check that out tomorrow).

Hi!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite card layouts.  I love how it breaks up the card. It is also really easy to do.  It is called a book fold.  

I didn't put a sentiment on the gray shark.  I wasn't sure what kind of card I wanted it to be...yet.  What kind of sentiment would you put on it?  I used the second for a retirement card.   Hopefully she loved it.  We miss her at the senior center.

Relax a Little

 Hello, 

Yesterday was the presidential election.  I'm a night owl, but I was up late even for me hoping for a result.  As you know... they are still counting ballots.  I just pray they find a peaceful outcome.  Anyway, I thought we could use a little reminder during these stressful times to RELAX.   

This mouse has nailed it.  I didn't put words on my card.  I thought it could be used for retirement, thinking of you or encouragement.  I can add those when I'm ready to send it.   

The theme at House Mouse challenge blog this week is favorite color.  I love green and purple.  I couldn't choose between the two so I used them both.   I hope you will stop by and check all the wonderful house mouse cards posted this month.

A New Chapter

Just a simple card today.  I used some of my favorite colors. I think this card would be perfect for someone starting a new job or entering retirement.  It is a very elegant image from Unity.  Thank you for taking a look.

Relaxing Retirement

Welcome Friends,

Yikes!  It has been hot here in New York.   That is something we don't get to say here very often.  I'm loving the heat.    I know many are starting to wish for cool fall days, but not me.  I love it!   When I saw there was a Hot Summer Days challenge at House mouse  I couldn't wait to join in.

Young at Heart

Hello all,

 I've got another Oldie but Goodie for you today.  I love this series of senior citizens stamps.  The company that makes them has made a change to the way the manufacture the stamps.  I think there are some issues, my hope is they will notice the same issues I did and make some changes.

The new images are being produced in polymer rather than rubber.  The polymer is cheap in quality and doesn't hold the ink as well.  When you stamp the image it is rough.  I tried a few different types of inks and cleaning the surface, but the image wasn't crisp.   I really liked the stamps...so I thought I'd color it up anyway and see what happens.  In the end, I really liked how the card turned out.

 In the close up, you can see the un-crisp lines.  I stamped the greeting that came in the set, but it was hard to read.  So I used a multi-liner pen to trace the lines.  In making future cards, I'll just come up with an alternative sentiment.   So Sad...not a fan of cheap Polymer stamps.  This set was just too cute to pass up.

Today's card is another favorite from June's classes.  This little cow will MOOve you!

Here is a really short video showing you how the card moves when you add a wobble.  If you are looking at this post in your email the video will not work.  You need to go to the blog to see the video.

I used a Wobble from Art Impressions to add the moment to the cow's head.   I only had a few of these and tried to order more... they are still on back order.  :(  I can't wait to make more cards like this.   In class we just used pop dots to complete the card.   It was still really cute!    You can see the layers below

Wishing You Ton of Happy Days

Hello all,

I hope you this post finds you well.   The cold bug finally caught up with me this weekend.  Last week I kept telling myself it was allergies, but by Friday afternoon I couldn't lie to myself anymore. Spent most of Saturday and Sunday curled up on the couch.  I'm hoping the worst is over and this week will go as planned.   Thank you all for understanding...that I'm a little behind.
