My Monthly Hero January 2018

Hello friends,

This months Hero Arts kit was Love themed.   The stamp set in the kit was much smaller than previous months.   The dies in the kit were also very intricate.  It really is a beautiful set.   When I was making the cards I was worried that there wasn't going to be enough variation to be interesting.  I kept reaching for the same die and stamp.  However, when I laid all the cards out at the end.  I could see that there was a wide variety of techniques.

If you haven't already please check out the video.  Click here to watch .  As a reminder...if you are looking at this in your email the video will not play.

I learned through making this cards it is called an ampersand not amperstand.   Funny things you learn up while crafting!   Please forgive me.  I say it wrong several times.

If you like the kit,  I think there are still some available on the Hero Arts web page.   I'd love to hear what cards are your favorites.

Love Story

Hello all,

Love it in the air here Purple Lake Stamps.   Connor and I were invited to two weddings next month. They are both in the Philadelphia area...and the weirder part is they are the same weekend.  Talk about two birds with one stone....I'm so grateful that they are not at the same time.  This way we can attend both without missing a thing!

I made this for one of the weddings.  I'm not sure which one yet.  When I started I planned to use it for our friend's wedding, but since found out that they are having a beach theme.  I'm tempted to try to make a card that goes along with their theme.  Hmmm.... not sure yet.

I love the inside sentiment.  It is just perfect for wedding/anniversary cards.  I think card could be used for both occasions.

I played around with some color ideas for this card.  Wedding dresses are usually white, but I wanted to give it some interest.  I had a hard time picking a color to play with. A huge thank you to my Mom for her suggestions.  After some discussion, I went with pink.  What do you think?  What color would you have picked?

I also used my glitter pen to add some sparkle to her veil, tiara, ring and necklace.  There is also a little sparkle in the twine in the bow.   It is a soft sparkle. I didn't want it to draw away from the couple, but just add a little twinkle.

Summer Wedding Card

Hello Stamping Buddies!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I had a great weekend in Toronto.  I met an amazing group of woman.  I ended up being the only US participant in copic class.  The women adopted me and took me to some Canadian restaurants.  It was a lot of fun!!   I have a lot of stuff to share with you from the convention, but I'm still getting my thoughts organized.  I'm going to design a Copic Hair and Copic Skin class.  I thought I could do it all in one class, but there really is too much information to be just one class.

This is a card that I made before I left.  I have colored this image many, many times but I always have to give it away when I finished.   This time I wanted to color it for myself.  I chose my favorite color combinations. They are listed below the photos.   AWE... they are so sweet!

Have a wonderful day friends,
Chris

A Little Something for A Little Someone

I guess it is obvious that I LOVE Magnolia stamps.  I was looking for a simple card that stood on its own.  This is the final product.  I’M in love with it.  You can expect to see more of them over the next few days.
