Lucky Leprechaun Shaped Card - with video

Greetings,

I saw a kid's craft project where kids traced and put shapes together to make a leprechaun's face.  What a cool idea for a card!  I showed it to my IT guy (aka husband).  He is also crafty and was able to draw out the basic shapes in our silhouette program.   In no time at all we had a shaped card.  I love it!

He fits in an A2 envelope.  He is so adorable!  Thank you to my hubby for dealing with my Shenanigans!

I used Art Impressions' Sham-rock set for sentiments.

Sledding on Snowman

Hello friends,

I pulled out this snowman stamp from CCC and my first instinct was to grab my copics.  I was about to touch ink to paper and thought the idea of watercolor pencils popped in my head.   I haven't used my pencils in about 13 years.  I don't know why... It felt good to dust them off and give them a go.  I obviously was a little rusty, but the end result still looks good.

Materials:
Watercolor pencils --really great buy!
Snowed in Sentiments by Taylored Expressions

This second card I used distress inks to create the sky.  The distressed watercolor look mimics the look of snow perfectly.  I think I preferred this look  over the watercolor pencil sky.  However, both were a lot of fun to create!

A Day without coffee... (with video)

Welcome,

I'm not a coffee drinker, but I live with a coffee addict.  I'm smart enough to know not to get between him and his coffee.    As a crafter, coffee cards are some of the most requested themes for cards that I get.    I got a couple of new coffee sentiments and I couldn't wait to ink them up.   I hope you get a giggle out of the sentiments.   I made a video of my coloring process.  Click here if you'd like to watch.

I made a video showing how I colored this image.  You need to watch on the blog or youtube

Monochromatic Rainbow (with Video)

 Hello,

Well I may have officially lost my mind.   I'm making monochromatic rainbows today.  Yep.. I took the color out of the most colorful thing that exists and yet... I think it looks really cool.   I was worried I had totally lost my marbles, I asked Ryan (5yrs) what he thought.  If you know this kid...he loves rainbows.  He just sorted his whole dresser in rainbow order because that is just how it should be done.  He first said..."that isn't right!"  Then followed it with..."I like it, it is pretty."    Kids don't lie do they?

I was having fun... so I rolled with it.  I made a bunch of these.
Here is a short video showing the process. (remember video will only play on blog and on youtube)

Materials:
All About Mom- My Favorite Things
Stampin Up ink- Garden Green, Certainly Celery (Pear Pizzazz works well), Gable Green
Green Glitter- very similar to what I used
Cloud Die - very similar to what I used

Here are the 6 versions of this card that I made.  I'd love to know which card is your favorite.

Version 1:  Tiny red heart and wink of stella on clouds.  I think this one is my favorite.  I also really like #2 and #3.

Version 2:  Red heart- my second favorite

Version 4:  This is the simple version with no heart.  This is just too plain... I might add a heart..

Version 5:  YUCK!  My least favorite one!   I added glitter to the clouds, but I think it is too much.

Version 6:  I used stamps to add in some detail-  It is just okay

Oh Ship!! Photos and a Video.

 Hello all,

I'm know I'm a little behind on New Year's Resolutions... but better late than never, right?  One of the things I realized is that I didn't make a single video during 2021.   I really missed making videos and interacting more on social media.  I talk about it a little in my video, but I hope to get back into it this year.

I adapted a card that I made years ago for the video.  I used make square cards, but have moved away from it because USPS charges more to send them.  I wanted to see if I could take a square design and adapt it to a A2 format.   For this card, I think it worked!

You can see my video here

You're One in a Million- stencil paint

 Hello friends,

I love experimenting with new products.  I couldn't resist when I found small tubs of stencil paint on clearance at Hobby Lobby.    The paint in really thick.  It looked a lot like pink butter.  I used a spatula tool to spread it over a stencil.

It is hard to tell from the photos, but all the little hearts are 3D.  It took them about 15 minutes to dry.  All in all it was pretty easy and fun to play with.    If you do give this a try,   remember to wash your stencils right away.  The paint came off pretty easy, but if you let it dry it might be more difficult to wash off.

Materials:

Stencil Paint--  this is similar to what I used
Spatula -- you could use anything but this made it really easy to spread
Heart Stencil-- this is very similar to the one I used
Hero Heart Dies-- This is seriously one of the best die sets I've ever purchased

The Broken World

 Hello,

I think that encouragement cards are becoming more and more important.  I made this card before the struggle in the Ukraine, but I as I read the verse now.  It seems to be appropriate for the situation.  My heart breaks for Ukrainian people.   We are rooting for you.

Card Details:  I used a sunray stencil to create the light rays.  After stenciling I adds fine yellow glitter to the bulbs to help them shine.

Supply List:

Yellow Glitter- similar to what I have
