Today is a day that is dreaded by children and celebrated by parents. Today is the first day of school here in NY. I'm so glad that I'm no longer part of that world. I've been listening to my teacher friends talk about all the new stresses that they face for the year, in a job that already has too many. If you have kids going to school. I encourage you to send the teacher a nice note/card. I promise...he/she probably hasn't had much sleep or time to themselves all week. I'm so thankful to be free of that. So today I celebrate!
In full discloser, I got this card idea from another artist. This stamp is actually meant to be for Valentine's Day. I purchased the stamp last year and it has been waiting for February to roll around. She used the stamp to create a birthday card. I loved the idea! I inked her up and made my own version.
I airbrushed the background. This can be kind of messy. Blue ink got everywhere. I need to find a better way to mask images for airbrushing. The traditional way... didn't work here.
There are two ways to deal with this.
Option 1: clean up the image with a blender pen.
Option 2: stamp the image again, color her, cut her out then paste on top of airbrushed image.
Both work.
