Sea You Soon

Hello Stampers!

It is an honor to be part of the Hip 2 Be Square Challenge.   The challenge is to use Tilda or Edwin on a Square Shaped Card.

I choose to use Pearl Tilda.  She is part of the Summer Memories Magnolia Collection (available at www.stampingscrapping.com )

To create an ocean environment, I used glimmer mist.  This was my first experience with it.  It is a lot of fun and not as messy and I thought.  I have avoided the bottles sitting on my shelf because I was fearful of the mess they would create.  Today I put on my brave face on and pulled them down.   I laid a few paper towels on the kitchen counter and sprayed my white card stock.  It took the card stock about 2 hours to dry.  It took less than a minute to clean up.  I'm so mad at myself for letting them sit on the shelf for so long.  I can see that I'm going to be ordering more colors (also available at www.stampingscrapping.com).

Glimmer Mist comes in a rainbow of colors and has little pieces of mica in it.  It leaves a shimmer on the surface of the paper.  The shades of blue change a bit depending on how the light hits the card.  It was the perfect choice to create a underwater world.  I used three colors of blue (listed below).  I layered them lightest to darkest to give the illusion of light penetrating the water.    Lastly I used Staz-On ink to stamp the landscape, animals and verse.

These are the materials I used:
Stamps:
Pearl Tilda by Magnolia
Ocean Floor by Stampscapes
Fish by Stampin Up
Turtles by Mark's Finest Papers
Verse by Great Impressions

Glimmer Mist: Sea Glass, Turquoise Blue and Riptide

Copics:
Skin: E00, E00, E11, E01
Hair: YR31, Y21, Y26, E50
Mermaid Tail: BV17, BV13, BV02, BV00, BV000, RV04, RV02, RV00
Seahorse: BG09, BG07, BG05, BG02, BG01, BG000

I put a little Illuminate Smooch on Tilda's Tail and some Stardust Stickles around the edges of the card to finish it off.

Happy Stamping!  I can't wait to see your Hip 2 Be Square Cards!
