My Monthly Hero May 2018: Summer Swing

Hello,

Well Hero Arts did it again.  May's MMH kit is amazing.  This kit has sold out.  Hopefully my video is still worth watching.   I tried to focus on techniques as well as card design.    Connor is also planning on participating this month.  I hope he has chance to film his video in the next few days.

The theme this month was summer.  There were lots of swings, kite, and tree images in this kit.  I thought it was ironic I was making summer cards, while wrapped up in a blanket and struggling to stay warm.   Despite being June... summer hasn't made its way to NY.  The kit gave me a great opportunity to experiment with background techniques.  I managed to dust off a few that were popular a decade ago as well as learn a few more.    I hope you will check out my video.

As always, I'd love to hear what you think.  What were your favorites?  I will create a new post when Connor finishes his video.   I also plan on posting a bonus video in the next few days.

Here is the link to the video.  If you are looking at this in your email, the video will not play.  You need to go to the blog or youtube to watch.

  1. Chris, Just finished watching the MMH May cards you made. WOW what great backgrounds. I loved every one and have everything except the nail polish so I am off to buy. You offer such fantastic ideas. I love your process and how you bring in your people to make them feel a part of your post. Your cards were exceptional and I love this kit. Look forward to Connor's tutorial he is a hoot! Hugs Paula (Hot in Tampa Bay area)

  2. I forgot to tell you I have already ordered 2 of the stamp sets you showed at the end. They remind me of Theresa Momber's stamps but I have never bought any of them. Great price point and cheap shipping. Thanks for the recommend.

    1. I'm glad you like the cards. It means a lot that you hang with me each month. Connor is working on his video as I type. I'm glad you liked the sailboat. What stamps of hers did you pick? Happy Crafting!

  4. Wow, such fabulous cards. I was surfing for backgrounds for cards. I stayed the whole 1hr & 12 minuets. I'm really going to try your shaving cream background. Thanks for staying up so late. Judy
