Christmas Stocking

A few months ago, I went to a stamping garage sale.  I love those things! I managed to find a few treasures to add to my collection.  I was really excited about this Christmas Stocking die.   When I got home.. I realized I bought the die twice.  I wish I could say I didn't do that often.. but I'm guilty. Apparently, I like things so much I buy them twice!   Thankfully one of my stamping buddies also wanted it and was willing to buy one off of me.   I thought that I should finally put the die to use. This way I remember I have it!

My favorite part of this card is the ruffle.  So darn cute!!

Skating Through Winter

I'm so excited to share this card with you.  I had no idea how it would turn out when I started.  I stamped the scene, but it wasn't until I sat down to color that I realized that I was faced with an unusual problem.   What color is the sky? Blue.  What color is ice? Blue.  What color do we use as a shadow for snow? Blue.  Hmmmm.... that is a lot of BLUE.  How do you make it look like a scene rather than a blue mess.    I had to play around a bit, but I think I picked blues that were far enough apart that it works.   I also discovered that I really like BG10 for ice!!  It is the little things that make me smile!

Thanks for going me today.  I needed a break from Christmas and thinking about snow.  I've been making so many quick and easy cards to get ready for the holiday... I was ready to sit down an really push myself to do something more challenging.  I just took my time and really enjoyed coloring her.

If you are tired of red...try coloring her in pink or purple.  I think she would look great in either!
