Hello,  

I love making Easter cards with cute little bunnies and chicks, but every so often it is nice to make a card that on the more serious side.  I found this Silhouette stamp from Blue Knight Rubber stamps.  I like the simple silhouette scene it creates.  It sort of says it all.  I hope you enjoy.  We will be back to cute bunnies soon.  :)

I colored this with watercolor pencils.  The paper is not watercolor, so I only used a tiny bit of water to blend.  It was just enough to add a touch of color.

Hey,, Is it Spring Yet? 

I feel like that is what this little bunny is peeking in to see.  Isn't he cute?   It doesn't have to be an Easter card, but it is hard not to think Easter when you see a bunny.     Maybe that would be a fun challenge...making bunny cards that have nothing to do with Spring or Easter.  Who is in?

Yappy Birthday

This little puppy stamp is just so so sweet.   I wanted to find a way to him up.   It is a bit different for me because I didn't color up the dog.  I let the balloons be the pops of color.  He is just so cute... He didn't need a thing.   I think I might make more of these in different colors.  Any suggestions?

I've been playing around with some die cutting again.  These die cuts really came to life when you add some ink to the edges of them.   I also added detail lines to them with a green and white gel pen.

Lucky Charm- Part 2

Welcome (back),  

I have the second part of my Lucky Charms post.  This is a stencil set from Taylored Expressions.  I love how fun and easy this came together.  I die cut some of the shapes out of craft card stock to make it look like the brown parts of the cereal (you know the stuff the kids won't eat).  I had a spoon die from Sassy Club stamps.  I cut it out of a matte metalic silver paper.  I added some "milk" to the spoon.   I hope you love it.  It was a lot fun to make.

Faux Shaker CardLucky Charm- Part 1

Hello,  

St. Patrick's Day is one of favorite holidays.  It is stress free.   It is just meant to a fun day.   I feel like this card just captures all of that.   I created a faux shaker card.  It has only dimension so that they elements can move around. It can still be mailed with a regular stamp.   I used the lucky charms stamp from Taylor Expressions to make the elements.    I have one more card to share with you using the same set... stay tuned.

The Best Flower Technique

Greetings Friends, 

It is winter..  Do you think that the words "winter" and "yuck" could possibly mean the same thing?   I'm so ready for the crocuses to pop up.    Since the groundhog seems to think we have a ways to go, I'll have to settle for this paper flowers.  

I used one of my favorite techniques on this card.  I used a Taylored Expressions stencil to create this unique flower combo.  I thought it needed a little something to I jazzed it up with an embossing folder.  I love the texture that it gives.  It is so much fun to touch. Do you have a favorite trick to jazz up a stamped panel?

This Calls For a Toast

Hello friends. 

This card was requested by a student.  She wanted to celebrate some of her kids accomplishments.  I thought this was a fun play on words.  I had so much fun coloring the bread.  I used tiny dots to try to give the toast some texture.  I hope she loves it.

I broke out the quirky animals stamps again.  I love these guys.  I wasn't really intending this, but I think this would be a great card for twins.  I struggle with twins cards, but I think this would work.  What do you think?    Are you liking this style of card?

I'm so guilty of letting stamp sets "marinate" for a bit before I use them.    I think I've had this stamp set for 10ish years. I just got around to using it.  YIKES!   The important thing is I used it.   The inside says "catching snowflakes on your tongue with your best friend."   I LOVE IT.   It might be my favorite card this month.

This cutie is by Hero Arts. It is another stamp set that I've been hoarding for years. I'm so glad that I finally got it out and started using it.   I used a heart stamp set that I had (no idea who made it. It is just hearts different sizes) to accent the card.   I might go back and add some glitter to the hearts.  Not sure, What do you think?

Look at how cute this guy is!! He is also part of the snoopy valentine set from craftworld.  It was sold out the last time I looked. I'm not sure if they are going to release more or not.  I'm so glad I snagged this set.  Again, I think this card could be for valentine's day, but I don't think it has to be valentine.   I would just change up the background paper to something more neutral.  What do you think?

I have a card that I LOVE.  I copied it from the spellbinders packaging...so I can't take any real credit for the design.   I guess I picked out the colors.   My favorite is the background.  It is Island indigo from stampin up . It has been retired for years, but I LOVE how it compliments the owls.  There are also otters in the set.  I might have to try them next!

Lift me Up

 Hello friends, 

January is finally over!  Why does that month always seem to be the longest of the year?   This was a pretty rough one in our family.  We lost our dog Widget on Jan 12th and then my grandmother on Jan 28th.  So many of you have send me notes of support.  I just wanted to say thank you for lifting me up when I was down.  I'm so blessed to have so many of you  in my life.

The love You Give - A New Series Animals Gone Wild

This is a different style of cars for me.  I hope to start sharing this more regularly.  I'm not really sure how to describe it but these stamps are more open ended than most.  They don't come in sets or anything.  You just pick the ones you like and create a scene with them.  I've been collecting them for years and playing with them in secret to get hang of it.   What should I call this style of card?  Animals Gone Wild?

Just My Type - Snoopy Style

Elegant Foil

Hello, 

I never get over how awesome foiling is.  This plate is from Spellbinders.   I instantly fell in love with the "u" shape of the design.  It hugs the sentiment.   Valentine's day is coming up so that was my first thought was to make Valentine's day cards.    I grabbed pink card stock for a tone on tone look. The look was so elegant.  It just made my eyes turn into little hearts.   In the next second, weddings popped into my head.  I made a heap of wedding and anniversary cards.  I'm so glad this is in my stash.  What a wonderful design!! Whoohoo Spellbinders!!!

Such a Croc

Hello, 

Today is another make off my wishlist.  Whimsy stamps makes these amazingly fun critter stamps that look like they are peeking into a scene.  They artist is able to give them such personality.  I love the whole series.  It was a challenge to find ways to have them pop in.   This is my first attempt.  I created this little fun fold to have this guy to deliver a special birthday message.
