Spotlight on Ornaments

Happy Saturday,

I have a quick Christmas card today.  I used a type of "spotlight" stamping technique to get this. I really like the look of this.  It love the added dimension to the card.  I might try this again with snowflakes.  I think it would be cool? What do you think?

Tweet Me

Happy Monday,

I hope you had a relaxing weekend.  I had a great visit with a good friend.  So sad that she is returning to Washington D.C.  She will be missed.  I was inspired to make a a "Miss You" card.

I colored the bird with copics (colors below).  I sponged on blue ink to create the sky.

Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday

Happy Thursday,

Today is special for me.  It isn't a holiday, birthday, or anniversary.  There is no designation on the calendar, but it is special nonetheless.   Today I get to spend the whole day with my childhood friend. It is a rare event.  It is sad that I see her so infrequently.  Once upon a time...on the weekends we would play together from the moment we woke up until our parents separated us kicking and screaming at night.  I felt just at home at her house as I did at my own.   Now, we live 6 hours apart. I can't do anything to change that, but I can cherish every visit.  Today is just filled with HAPPY!

I can't full credit for the layout of this card. I saw this on the Stamping Bella.  I changed a few details...and used my own colors. I can't resist these long cards.

Warmth of Friendship

Hello all,

I hope you are enjoying the long summer days.  Our family has spent as much time as possible on the lake.  Connor (my husband) has been working hard learning how to slalom (ski on with one ski).  It is difficult but he has made a lot of progress so far, before long he will be doing it with ease.   What summer projects are you tackling?

One of my projects it to get a head start on Christmas cards.  I always seem to find myself making piles of cards...just a few days before the holiday.  Hopefully not this year!!   Here is my first Christmas card of the year.   One down... about 40 more to go!   How many Christmas cards do you make?  Do you make them the same or all different. I'm always curious what others do.  Leave me a note or send me an email... if you want to share.

A Million Roses

Hello,

This cards is simple, but full of elegance.  I love the layered look of these flowers.  This Stippled Blossoms stamp set is designed by Stampin Up, but it was recently retired.  It is one of my favorites. I love the layered look of the flowers.

Wishing Flower

Hello again,

I thought we could finish the week off with a simple card.  I wanted to share because I did something I rarely do.  I used an actual button. Yep... a real button.  I normally shy away from them. I've learned if the prying fingers of the USPS employees feel any lumps in an envelope they like to add on extra fees.  The shear joy they extract out of this process still stuns me.  I wonder if there is a prize for catching misfit buttons on handmade cards.  Do they have a tally board in the break room where they log their findings?  Anyway... off topic.   I had to make an exception because this card just wouldn't be the same without the button. It adds a sweetness to the card. There are tiny little details in the petals of the flower too.  It is simply sweet.
