You Make My Tail Wag

Hello!

I'm still...getting myself organized from our weekend in Ohio.   My copic classes went really well and I met some really creative people.  I'm looking forward to talking with them more.   I've spent the last few days filling orders from the weekend.  I still have a few more DVDs to get in the mail, but I'm mostly caught up.  I'm looking forward to coloring up some of the new stamps I purchased on Saturday!!!

Today's card is one we made in the Pet themed Card Lover's class this month.  I love the cute little dog.  It is made my a company that closed its doors a few years ago called "There She Goes".  I miss them a lot...they used to make the cutest images.

The background is created with a stencil I made at home.

Copics used:
Dark Brown: E30, E31, E33, E35
Light Brown: E50, E51, E53
Nose: N5, N3, N1

I put some glitter on the stars- it doesn't show up very well in the photos.

Hang in There...

Hello all,

Did you ever see the poster of the cat hanging from a rope, its legs dangling, a petrified look on its face and the text reads "Hang in there"?  I had one hanging in my classroom when I was teaching.   I saw a card made my another artist on Pinterest.   Her card made me think of this poster and I instantly wanted to make one.

I try not to copy cards exactly when I see them.  My goal is to change three things on the card to make it my own.   On this card,  I changed the sentiment,  the coloring medium,  added fish to the background, and paper/twine.  I used kite string for the twine, because I didn't want to buy some weird shade of blue green twine that I probably never used again.   All the paper is from Stampin Up.  Hopefully the original artist would be flattered that I was inspired by her card.

Here is the stamp set I used to create this card-
Knead You Dies

You'll Always Be Pawesome

Hello friends,

I bought this new die that says "pawesome".   It is so cute and pairs so nicely with so many animal stamps.  I thought it would get a lot of use.  However, I found that it is hard to find a sentiment that works with it.  I poured over all my stamps and I finally found "You'll always be..."  I'm going to brainstorm some other ideas for sentiments, but for now I think this works well.   What do you think?

Sorry I Missed The Party

Happy Earth Day,

I have always loved Earth Day.  However, four years ago it became even more important day for me; I married my husband.   For us, it was a perfect day.  We married on an empty beach in the U.S. Virgin Islands.  It was simple and beautiful.    Thanks for sharing in our celebration.

If you scroll down to see a bird who is having bad day.

This idea has been floating around Pintrest.  I'm not sure made the first cards, so I can't give credit.  This little bird looked so sad.   I drew on a party hat and deflated balloon.  The sentiment is computer generated.   I thought this was the cutest card when it got all done.    You could send it as a belated Birthday card.  However, I like the idea of sending it to someone that lives far away and you can't physically be there to celebrate their birthday.   I might try to use this bird to make a get well card too.  He is so darn cute...even if he is so sad.  Do you have any card ideas?

Copics used:
Bird: Y11, Y13, Y15, YR12, Yr15, R14, R17

I added some B00 to his eyes to make them look like he was about to cry.

The Icing on the Cake

Happy Monday!

When I was making this cards I started to realize how lucky Cinderella was.  All she had to do, was start singing and the mice, birds, and other critters would come and help her with the housework.  I'm not a huge fan of mice...but if they came and helped me clean the house and cook dinner I would get over it.   If anyone knows where Cinderella got her furry helpers let me know... there is always something that needs to be cleaned.

Powerful Poppies

Hello all,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Spring finally arrived.  On Friday, I took the dogs to their regular vet check up.  They did wonderful, but the vet said they could both stand to shed a few pounds.   I'm sure we all could after that miserable winter.   On Saturday, to celebrate we took the dogs for a two hour walk.  When we got home, they both just passed out.  Mission accomplished!! Hopefully we can make this a habit and they won't have any problem getting them down to healthy weight.

I made this Poppy card last week.  I love the spring colors.

Pink: RV10, RV11, RV13, RV14,

All My Love

Hello Friends

Last week, I shared with you that we lost a good friend and artist.  Connie loved to color and I've been working on setting up a memorial with her husband.  I think Connie would have loved to help others color.  I'll keep you posted as we figure out the details.  I wanted to make something for Husband and Mom.   I turned this card into a framed piece of art.

This is very similar to the card, I did add some airbrushing to soften the sky.
I found this poem online.  I couldn't find an author.

Copics: See above for link to original card and colors

Dancing in the Rain

Happy Monday,

I colored this card awhile ago, but it never made it off my craft table.  April tends to be a rainy month, so I thought it fitting it makes it debut now.

Copics used:
Red: R05, R14, R17
Green: G20, G21, G24
Skin: E00, E000, E11, R20
Hair: E13, E15, E17
Yellow: YR24, Y17, Y15, Y13
I added some blue liquid pearls.  I didn't like these at all. I wouldn't do it again.  They flattened out and look more like blobs.  I would just color them with B00, B01 instead.

Good Kitty

Happy Saturday,

I have another quick card to share.  This idea was passed on to me from my friend, Debbi.  She had made a similar card and I thought it was adorable.  This is my version of it.  I didn't have all the punches/dies that she used...so I had to substitute for things I had on hand.  Thank you for sharing such a great idea.

This card is made from dies/punches.   I used a star die to create the ears, heart for the nose, ovals for the feet and circle dies for the tail.

No copics today.
I used a gel pen to draw in the toes.

Stupid or What?!

Happy Thursday,

Connor is finally home from his Colorado skiing weekend.  It is nice to have him back in the house.  I think the dogs missed him too.  When I brought him home from the airport, we decided to play a little prank on the dogs.  I went into the house first and let them out of their kennel.  They gave me the normal, excited greeting, walking circles around me tails wagging and toys in their mouths.   Our black lab noticed I left the door open and ran over...as she got close she noticed a man standing in the doorway.  She skidded to a stop and let out a huge, mean sounding bark.  In the next second she realized it was Connor and her attitude changed instantly.  She was so excited to see him.

Keeping with the humor.... I have a silly card for you.

Copics used:
