A Mother's Love

Happy Saturday Stampers!

I hope you are enjoying some R&R.  Connor and I are participating in a Zumbathon today.  It is a charity event for a church group in town.  It is 3 hours of Zumba.  Again.. not sure what we are thinking when we sign up for these things...  I'm pretty sure as you read this... I'm asleep.

This card was a strange one for me.  This image of the Mom and her foul is so sweet.  It was one of those stamps I just had to have.  I anxiously waited for it to arrive in the mail.  Then when it did... I had no idea what to do with it.    I was tempted to just hide the stamp in a pile of papers on my desk.   Resisting the easy way out... I inked it up and started coloring.    It was a hard stamp to color.  Horses are complicated.  There are lots of shadows and subtle details in their faces.    In the end, I think it turned out alright.  Not my favorite card.  I'm proud of myself for not hiding the stamp.  I might revisit this stamp for a Mother's Day Card.

Enjoy your day,
Chris

I'm Yours Hook Line and Sinker

Hello Friends,

I love this card.  A few months ago, a stamping friend of mine (Amy) showed me a beautiful Christmas card she made.  There was so many things about it I liked, but I was most intrigued with the shape of the card.  How cool? I had never seen a card like it.  It fits in a business-sized envelope.   I had to give it a try.   I love having a large canvas!  This will not be the last Jumbo sized card!

Here are some close ups...

A Modern Wedding

Happy Monday Friends,

Today's card is a special request from a student.  She wanted to send a wedding card that complimented the Bride's wedding invitation.   When she showed me the invitation, I was stumped at first.  It was very simple.  It was white paper with grey chevrons.   The message was printed in an oval in the center of the card.   That was it!  Nothing else.   Hmmm....

I scratched my head for a while... and settled on this.  Does the layout look familiar?  It is the same layout as the cow card I made about two weeks ago. Changing the colors of a card can change everything!

Bee-Thankful

Happy Friday!

It is hot here!  Today is the first real day that summer actually feels like it has arrived.  I'm so excited that we are enjoying it at the lake.  I hope you are finding some respite from the heat!

Today's card was showcased at June's Card Lover's Class.  It was a group favorite.  I love the honeycomb embossing folder.  It worked perfect with this stamp.  It is difficult to see in the photo, but I added some glitter to the bee's wings.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Wedding Card

Hello Stamping Buddies!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I had a great weekend in Toronto.  I met an amazing group of woman.  I ended up being the only US participant in copic class.  The women adopted me and took me to some Canadian restaurants.  It was a lot of fun!!   I have a lot of stuff to share with you from the convention, but I'm still getting my thoughts organized.  I'm going to design a Copic Hair and Copic Skin class.  I thought I could do it all in one class, but there really is too much information to be just one class.

This is a card that I made before I left.  I have colored this image many, many times but I always have to give it away when I finished.   This time I wanted to color it for myself.  I chose my favorite color combinations. They are listed below the photos.   AWE... they are so sweet!

Have a wonderful day friends,
Chris

I have feverishly working on the card for the Card Lover's Class.  I have four card finished.  They look great, I can't wait to share them with you!!  I have also been busy getting ready for my Copic Workshop this weekend.  I'm getting so so so so excited.  I promise to take as many photos as I can and bring back lots of ideas and tips for you.

Today's card is a knee-slapper!  These old woman are hilarious.  I stamped her on white paper and colored her with copics (listed below).  Then cut her out and used pop-dots to adhere her to the confetti paper.  It was easy and fun to make!

Midnight Madness-updated

Coloring this image has been on my to do list for a long time. I printed image out a long time ago but felt inspired to do it tonight. It took 2 hours but I love how it turned out.
We are required to bring work to share with our Copic peers at the class next weekend. I am excited and nervous to get their feedback.  This is my example of coloring people. What do you guys think?
Many hugs and goodnight,
Chris
